That’s why I will be driving 1000 miles to visit my daughter in New Hampshire. Don’t need the aggravation so the airlines be damned!

Absolutely ! I would rather go to the Electric Chair , than on an Airline.
Anyway, where I am , you can't get on a Plane without the "papers please", so that ends my flying for this lifetime.

Frell the airlines. They treat us like animals anyway. I'll drive. I doesn't take that long and I have all the time there is.

Hey airline industry! Here's the masses saluting you!

Places I h**e:

1) Prison/jail

2) Hospitals/dr./dentist offices

3) Airports/jets/anything to do with airlines

In that order. Hell doesn't count.

PS: Yes! DMV is lower on my h**e list

People flew at one time in relative luxury and people flew even though it was expensive.

Then they crowded us together like frelling cattle but people flew because it was convenient.

Now it's neither convenient nor luxurious.

What happens next?

And you can burn more gas and add to more CO2 in the air. The results of over regulation and stupid rules and laws.

Mike, I remember when people wore their Sunday best when flying. It was an enjoyable experience.
At the mere mention that I flew myself, I had access to the cockpit and rode many flights in the jump seat on both domestic and international carriers.
Metal detectors ? Unheard of! The younger generation can not begin to imagine living in that kind of society.
PanAm and TWA served lobsters on all their international flights. I know because I was their supplier at
Idlewild (now JFK).
As I view the world today , I can only be thankful that I lived in those great times. To see that those times are gone forever is nothing short of depressing.

The last time I flew it was a matter of last resort. Chicago to St. Louis. I tried to rent a car. $95/day plus insurance for a car that would sit in a parking lot for three days. Then I tried Mega Bus, Greyhound and Amtrack. Masks for 6 or more hours in stifling quarters, and even while trying to sleep on overnighters. Finally flew, southwest. Yeah, I had to wear a mask as soon as I entered the terminal, but spacey and not confining. A little over an hour flight and I'm out of the terminal and free again. Yeah, if I owned a car, I would drive and breathe and feel free and independent and not have to wear a mask. If you have a car, go for it and screw the amateur climatologists and their global c*****e c****e crap. Drive free and comfortable and see America. Take the back roads when possible.

Driving is now the only way to go but driving across the Atlantic to get to the U.S. East Coast just presents too many problems so I stay put.

One time I flew American Airlines. They loaded us on the plane then we sat on the tarmac for four hours. They never told us why. May have had something to do with inclement weather. I always wondered why they herded us on the plane than parked it. I guess to preclude people from getting off and asking for a refund.

Not fun sitting on a tarmac for four hours before your three hour flight!

I remember in flight meals and leg room being the norm

I remember Greyhound and and Trailways when the bus stations had cafeterias that served good food and you could get drinks and smokes and goodies for the road.

I remember when it didn't matter what time you rolled in you could get all the above AT the bus station and more.

And then it could be as easy as knowing you have to wear a mask and wearing the stupid thing, instead of being stupidly making a fool of yourself over no big thing.
