This story is the reality, teachers are going to be teaching a fact based reality their parents may not agree with, if you don't like it send your kids to a church based school where they can be taught fantasy your way.

I agree, Q Anon is nuts. But teachers should teach subjects and leave the moral raising of children to parents. That type of thinking is a form of Socialism, a philosophy that we must all agree as instructed by the government or news media.

As a former public school bus driver, classroom history teacher, twenty years as a High School Principal, and six years Superintendent of Schools; if I had school age students today, I would put them in a private school.

If I had school-aged human children, they would also be in private school, but between my husband and I, home schooling would be the best choice for us and our kids. He's a retired electro-mechanic engineer, and I specialize in social services. We are both highly educated, and we are both very good at guiding without smothering.

The best part of homeschooling is that the right wing, dumbing down would not be part of our hypothetical curriculum. I could go on, but no sense in feeding the extreme right wing nut jobs. Some of them are hell bent on seeing me destroyed.

I actually agree with you. When I was raising my daughters, I never really considered home schooling. My middle daughter is now raising two of my grandsons with home schooling, and I could not be happier. The oldest boy is eleven, and his brother is eight. Incredible knowledge and analytical abilities. I spent most of my life tutoring, and some time as a substitute teacher, and am currently tutoring two of my other grandchildren in public school, and I can say for an absolute FACT that home schooling, when done properly, is FAR superior to any public school.

Speaking of children...how is Bosnian Dan doing? And Tex?

You may be shocked at how many of us do exactly what you suggest. About 15 years ago, I had a student who, at the age of 16, had been brought to America with his naturalized uncle. They were from Bosnia. The young high school junior was facing deportation back to Bosnia, where he was an orphan, and would be inducted into the armed services. He was quite she'll shocked by everything that has already happened to him, and was terrified about going back to Bosnia.

So, DH and I adopted him, homed him until he had been given priority refugee status, and supported him until he received certification as an EMT. Today he works for the local police force, is a Big Brother to a boy whose parents are facing deportation, and volunteers at an adult literacy center. If we had allowed him to return to Bosnia, there is a good chance he would be dead.



Tex thanks you for your kind words. Sadly, Tex had a series of micro strokes a few years ago. His memory and some cognitive function were impaired. His career as a senior electro-mechanical design engineer (which included the invention of innovative medical diagnostic equipment for an exceptionally important American corporation) came to a screeching halt four years ago. At the time, we were still paying child support (for a child who was actually living with us). He was fast tracked on to SSDI and was retired. Tex now gets all of his medical and neurology care from the VS.
