Hah!! True. What happens when they up the ante? Kinda speaks to the old maxim "If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything"

That may be what you read but it was not what I said. The key is to understand the causal conditions for either losing or maintaining your employment. If you think you can bite the hand that feeds you and continue to be fed, you are mistaken. This has always been, and always will be true.
It is one thing to air your gripes, complaints, and criticisms internally, with the supervision or management
you have access to. It's obviously completely different to broadcasting the faults you perceive externally, even if what you scream is absolutely true.
You are free to speak out as you please. Your employer is free to promote you to customer for simply not liking you. So, if you don't care about your job, shout out, r**t or wh**ever to your hearts content, understanding that there will be consequences.
A person of integrity opts to leave the "offensive" employment. Act with her/his feet! Also, a person of integrity will keep their mouth shut after they leave except, maybe with close friends. I personally would never hire a candidate that openly bashed their former employer to me. I know it would only be a matter of time until they became disgruntled again and turned it on me. Folks that act this way tend to carry their chips around with them.
Whistleblower motivations can be tricky to discern.
So yeah, it is a game, If you don't play you lose. If you play with the wrong people, you lose. Watch your own butt!

I'm certain that if you trash talked your private sector management on/in public media, you would also be fired. I agree with the marine's sentiments, but unless he wanted to be fired, keeping his mouth shut was the best way to keep his job.
The military has never allowed anything resembling freedom of speech...the command decisions are virtually sacred, as they need to be for many reasons involving morale and command control.

Starting with trump, who made the stupidest deal in history with terrorists...
Had there been no deal with the Taliban the US could have done things however they wanted to, the Taliban had Biden cornered after they had set the stage for taking over because trump was not supporting the Afghan government.

You are correct. In the military, you have little chance to critique your leaders decisions at all. I think it is essentially the same in private business too. Although you can speak internally to your peers and bosses, it's another thing to go to the media and air your issues publicly.

Trump described the Taliban as “really smart”
“good fighters”, and “good negotiators” Invited them to Camp David. He was also widely reported as deriding US Servicemen as “suckers” and “losers”.

Trump made a deal for the pipeline, Biden did not honor it.
Trump made a deal with Mexico to keep immigrants in Mexico to wait for visa approval. Biden did not honor that.
Who was the Commander in Chief during the exit operation of Afghanistan? Biden. He bears this one.

Well true for normal bulls**t but when it involves ethics and integrity we have a moral duty to speak the t***h! You can blame the left and the government for blowing up any decorum that survives in 2021! I don’t know where you stand on OPP but how we got to murdering 67 million babies….. by looking the others way! Enough!!!!!

Well, the Taliban took over Afghanistan in about 2 weeks. So they are some combination of smart and good fighters.
They managed to stay in the game during a 20 year fight with the US.
The fabricated reporting and comments about Trump deriding the military as suckers was proven to be false.
