Both the left and the right are enabling the emerging police state.

I disagree that both left and right are contributing to our loss of freedoms. I think it is 100% the left who takes away freedoms - or tries to. I think a handful of those on the right may bear some guilt - those who are control freaks, though, aren't truly conservative in my view.

As to the gist of the letter, I never heard such was going on, whereas the TEA Party is quite vocal and continuously advises the public what is happening in their bailiwick. Apparently those on the anti-war site of this article aren't as good at handling publicity as the TEA Party is - and that isn't the TEA Party's fault. Additionally, if I had to bet, I'd bet the TEA Party more closely resembles more real Americans than does anti-war.com. That has nothing to do with RIGHTS, but makes the case that perhaps the anti-war group just isn't as capable of the publicity needed to get the word out. I am not anti-war per se. I do NOT believe war is the great answer to all problems. Mostly I think that people opposing war are doing so from a personal self-interest attitude, than from what is good or bad for our country. I will defend their rights to speak out however, or to demonstrate. I will defend no one's rights to destroy property. Comes the time we actually must physically defend each other from our own government, I'll do everything I can to help the citizen rather than the government, which has become so corrupt as to be rightly despised. I despise what it has become. It bears no resemblance to what it is supposed to be.

What is this dude smoking. I'm not a Tea Party activist but try to stay up on whats going on in the world but have obviously missed the fact that the Tea Party is a dissidant organization to be compared to Black Panthers, etc. Yes we allowed regulations to be passed to protect the American people after the 9/11 tragedy. The president's primary duty is to protect the public not abuse the process to his advantage. Anything can be mis-used and abused if that is the nefarious intent of the perpetrator. To solve this problem you must have someone in office of POTUS with character that is not attempting to undermine the strengths of America.
