The rent moratorium is going to bite hard, already is. A new large complex here just started accepting applications. The same company owns two other complexes. The application fee, non-refundable is $600, up from $300. You must have tax returns verifying income exceeding $56,000.00/year for the past 3 years for the cheapest apartment, up $400 to $1600 for a one bedroom, income requirement goes up with the size of the apartments, a credit report just like applying for a bank loan, first month, last month, & one month’s rent security deposit.

The fine print says if you do not pay your rent for any reason, you will forfeit all deposits & will be served with eviction papers. You agree that you owe the debt, just like a bank loan.
