What it takes is the sense to get a good education, develop a sk**l, get work, be on time for work, don't call in sick every other week, be there on Fridays and Mondays unless you're puking or have debilitating diarrhea, get along with people, treat people nice, stay off your GD phone, be on time, and treat the bosses with respect. There is very little of that in the workers who work jobs for minimum wage. The ones who have all of those attributes go on to be promoted, to get higher responsibility and get raises based upon MERIT and JOB PERFORMANCE. Those who don't have those attributes get their asses fired.

Period.

I hope that spells it out for you, you l*****t dimwits who are demanding higher minimum wage and wanting gov to help make employers pay it!!!

And don't go starting a family until you can afford it, else you'll get to work five times as hard to make ends meet, and it isn't the responsibility of gov to tell businesses to pay you more to make up for your poor choices in the back of a chevy or in your date's bedroom!

Even with less greed from the "uppers" one still has to do the right things to keep a job and excel. I see it on a daily basis.

In fact, if the "uppers" pay more, they will expect even more of their employees, and we do!!

Totally accurate - great post, thank you for writing the guidelines down. Now, if folks will just follow the guidelines their situation will improve.

Those whining for more money from employers are the least likely to follow those guidelines, I have found. They ones who don't whine about low pay, follow them and move up the ladder the way it is supposed to be done.

Oh good grief, you evidently have never ran a small business or tried to make a payroll, you therefore know not of what you speak.
Try it before you start talking about “GREED from the uppers”.

Not much to disagree with except you're dumb l*****t comment. I think most would agree good, people or knowledge, help an individual go far.

Exactly, been there done that. To me, the best way is be on time or a few minutes early and look for something that needs done without having to be told, leave your phone in your locker or vehicle, leave your petty problems at home and treat customers and fellow employees with respect.

Hmmm, how is it dumb? Sounds pretty accurate to me.

Here I disagree. I think most would like additional compensation. Anyone that says they're happy and would accept less is probably being less than t***hful. Or put a way you might understand better, who thinks they're being overpaid? Seems like you own a business, thought about charging less for your services, I thought not?

I guess I just haven't found many conservatives whining about low minimum wage, even among teens and young people.

Dumb because it's common sense. It's not a political point of view although some try to spin it that way.
