The History Of Policing

The left rewrites history more than Hollywood rewrites movie scripts, and usually with the same putrid results. As tiring as it is to constantly have to correct it, I won’t let them get away with spreading these lies. So please jot this down for future reference:

“No, policing did NOT grow out of Southern s***e patrols.”

That link has a little history of policing, including the nugget that the first major police department in the US was established in Boston in 1838. It grew out of mercantile interests’ concerns about lawless urbanization, and their belief that a stable and orderly environment for business had to be maintained for the “collective good.”

What grew out of Southern s***e patrols was Jim Crow laws and vigilante groups like the KKK. Guess who invented those? That’s some real history you’ll probably never learn in today’s schools.
