SJR-19 passed last night. Do you carae?
Whether you're pro-gun or anti-gun doesn't matter. What really matters is the First and Second Amendments. SJR-19 will come up for another v**e in a few days. Reid and his Anti-American views will spread further if this law is passed again. He wants Americans to not be able to gather and express you're views about guns. You will not be able to talk to 'anyone' about your views, even to your friends. You will not be able to send a letter to 'anyone' about your views, etc. etc. Does this sound like freedom of speech? One step at a time. You'll have eventually no right to freedom of speech. One step at a time. And so it goes. One step at a time. Total dictatorship?

Cutting through the above hype....
Summary from the Library of Congress re: SJR-19: Introduced constitutional amendment--authorizes congress and the states to set reasonable limits on the spending of money on candidates and others to influence e******ns.
This would o*******w the ridiculous "Citizens United" ruling by the Supreme Court that dollars=free speech.
What this means is that the Koch brothers cannot purchase their own congress and that the U.S. would not have to continue always having the best government that money can buy.
Congress so often gets it wrong. Last night they got it right!
Telling corporate CEO's that they can't use unlimited amounts of stockholder's money to buy anonymous attack ads, is un-American? How do you figure that?

It's not going anywhere.
But it's the Anti-American thought that counts.

I figure it this way.. Free speech is good. Government controlling speech is bad.
That's how I figure it...Just like America's founding fathers figure it.

The world isn't fair.
Rich people can buy more ads.
Ed, Hannity, O'Reilly and Maddow have talk shows.
They all have a louder voice that I do.
That's American.
Having some Goebbels wannabe determining who gets to speak, and what they're allowed to say is not American.

A democratically passed constitutional amendment preventing the buying of e******ns? This is Goebbels?
How is this living in an alternate universe thing working out for you?

There is no amendment proposed that would affect the purchasing of e******ns.
There is an amendment that would give the government control of free speech.
Purchasing e******ns will be easier than before. Now, middle and low income American can pool our money to purchase ads that point out a congressman's v****g record. N**is don't allow such things. They can't. Free Speech cannot be tolerated by megalomaniac dictators.
The IRS has been caught red-handed using government power to target conservatives. Do you really think the United States Secretary of Censorship would do any less?
The SJR-19 amendment would limit free speech. It's not a reform amendment. You're 100% right. Apparently the Liberals and Democrats do not want all Americans that this is another power-grab by the government stooges. The IRS scandal should wake up these ignorant people and see what this country is turning into. Peace and Love.
Have you ever heard Bloomberg or Soros? Not to "influence" e******ns? Since when did "buying" e******ns go out of style? Just ask Obama. Just ask the mayor of Chicago?

I find it extremely interesting that liberals have no problem with labor unions spending millions to influence e******ns for liberal candidates to get elected. In many cases the unions bought liberal politicians with union money, against the wishes and political beliefs of their members.
At the same time George Soros spent millions, if not billions, getting Obama and Democrat Senators elected. Millions of illegal dollars came into the Obama e******n coffers, mostly from Arab Nations, and the liberals said nary a word.
Then the Koch brothers made a few open and above board contributions to some conservatives, and the liberals went bat s**t.
I hope I'm wrong and hope that you live long enough to see what this country becomes. Peace and Love.

Yep,more pot smoking hippy dippy love scheist.
How many States ratified this amendment?

It's not an Amendment. It's a Joint Resolution.
If the House fell to N**i or C*******t majority this fall, they could pass the same Joint Resolution and then it would be up to the states to ratify it.
It's not getting past the House. Too many free speech supporters in the House.
But I do hope they bring it up for a v**e, just to force the House Dems to choose between the 1st Amendment and solidarity with Pelosi/Reid.
