What Say Ye?

Title I of the Speedy Trial Act of 1974, 88 Stat. 2080, as amended August 2, 1979, 93 Stat. 328, is set forth in 18 U.S.C. §§ 3161-3174. The Act establishes time limits for completing the various stages of a federal criminal prosecution. The information or indictment must be filed within 30 days from the date of arrest or service of the summons. 18 U.S.C. § 3161(b). Trial must commence within 70 days from the date the information or indictment was filed, or from the date the defendant appears before an officer of the court in which the charge is pending, whichever is later. 18 U.S.C. § 3161(c)(1).

Yes, but Democrats do not believe they are entitled to any kind of trial. Just conviction. Evidence is not relevant to them.

I think this was all overwritten by Bush43.
Which allowed detainment in Guantanamo indefinitely. I may be wrong. As I remember it Bush43 gave the courts a good swirl to confuse things.
Like lawsuits against corporations need to heard only in Federal Courts. This over flooded the courts o that cases against corporations may be pushed into the far future.

Individual rights only matter if an individual is willing and allowed to fight for their rights. Individual rights are becoming of much less importance compared to the rights of the collective in todays America.

I, unfortunately agree with Milosia2 but for a different reason. Bush did a lot of damage to individual rights with the Patriot Act.

As t*****rs, terrorists, and s******nists they have no rights. Their status as protesters changed when they broke into the capital for the purpose of stopping constitutional business of the e******n...and worse. Those who did not enter the premises are being left alone unless they come up in investigations involving planning and conspiracy.

The right is always the first to advocate being shot or hung for treason, treason being a very loose term when applied to democrats. These are the real deal, and evidence comes in the form of video and admissions of guilt in social media posts.

Long messages need to be sent, this will not be tolerated or looked at as a tourist trip or patriotic freedom of expression. That mob would have k**led people had they got their hands on them.

Nary a single defendant has been charged with treason, terrorism or s******n, your rant is naught but garbage.

Keep in mind that you have no more rights than those defendants.

Bulls**t! Anyone who is an American citizen is under the protection of our Constitution, and regardless of crimes committed, alleged or proven, they have the same rights as all other Americans.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation, to be confronted with the witnesses against him, to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.
6th Amendment, Bill of Rights, US Constitution.

L*****ts' ignorance of the Supreme Law of our nation is appalling and no less unforgivable.

All defendents are presumed innocent .
But the Patriot Act overrides many of our constitutional rights including right to a trial not just a speedy one. They can be held indefinitely and without charges. The way I read it they can be drug into the street and executed forthwith with no legal repercussions some of the Patriot act expired but that part had to do with wire tapping and gathering electronic information. The NSA went overboard and overreached beyond imagination Every num ber survailed also survailed every number that number had contact with and sometimes all those that had contact those other numbers
Something like 300 numbers generated 15 million numbers being under survailence.
