Did you even read what the charges were about? There is no indictment of Trump. The charge was like using a sledgehammer to swat a fly. It had to do with some job perks that they didn't pay the tax on. The normal procedure is to have the guilty person pay the tax and a fine. This was a waste of time and money trying to go after Trump. It is not just my opinion, but that of many financial analysts throughout the media.
