There has been much debate on who we don't want in the white house. Why don't we examine the qualities that one needs in order to handle the White House.

Has anyone ever asked the American people straight up what qualities they want in an American President.

Obama can appeal to everyone, however, he can talk the talk but never walked the walk.

Christ was sent for the sinner not those who already believed. So he appealed to the poor, the downhearted, and the desperate, the ones who felt trapped in their sin. In doing so he saved all of us.

Therefore, by using his example, people who ran for office always appealed to this demographic. When they were successful they turned into the hypocrites by their action after being in office. This is the true example of president Obama.

Now, I flat out ask Americans, what qualities do you want in an American President?

To start with, how about one who will speak from the heart and just tell us the t***h. We're grown ups(most of us). We can take it. Secondly, we need one who WILL sit and talk calmly and rationally with both parties until decisions can be made that will benefit WE THE PEOPLE and not a party or politician. No need for name calling, etc. and acting like big babies, which is what we've had for a few years. Thirdly, we need a very principled, disciplined one with character and integrity who will stand for those ideals and not waver from them depending upon a poll. Finally, one who is proud to be an American and SHOW it. Personally, Dr. Ben Carson fits the bill. Comments are appreciated.

I want a former Harvard professor, in her 60s, who has experience as a Democratic U.S. Senator, from Massachusetts, and is feared by Wall St.

I also would like someone who is tough enough to fight the wingnuts when they play their particular futile brand of "gotcha" politics (i.e. birtherism).

Devon-we already have a Harvard professor of constitutional law named Obama. We do not need anyone from academia totally void of private sector experience. We have that now and look at the results. Warren is no more qualified to be president than Hillary Clinton. PHD often t***slates to lack of common sense. Most are so full of themselves that they cannot remember their nationality. Ward Churchill-academia. Bill Ayers-academia. Barrack Obama-academia. Good Luck America !!!

In addition, why do they have be a graduate from Yale, Princeton, or Harvard? We saw what these graduates have done with the nation. How about someone from say a small town without a law degree. Oh, yeah that's right, the Constitution doesn't say you have to have a law degree. How about a non-lawyer.

In what form do you wish the "fight the wingnuts" to take. Are they to be jailed, tongues cut out, exactly what?

Is it your contention only one side plays "gotcha" politics? Although not a fan, I recall a great deal of "gotcha" during the prior President's term in office. Obviously the ganders are not enjoying what they heaped on the goose.

Most progressives are not big on rounding up groups of people. As long as the wingnuts are kept away from the levers of power, that is good enough for me.

Occasionally, a few liberals will vocalize a fantasy about extracting a pound of flesh, but that is more the exception than the rule.

You will notice,on OPP, most of the "let's threaten to shoot them dead" fantasies come from the far right, not the left. The left just wants the far right out of the way....and pretty much plans to achieve that via the b****t box and by putting up a big tent.

It's really not rocket science to defeat a rapidly shrinking demographic whose slogan is, "Get the hell off of my lawn".

You know it is funny, if we get a conservative as our next president, then there is going to be a whirlwind of chaos brought up by the democrats. If we get a liberal president then there is going to be the same whirlwind of disaster like we are seeing today. I suggest we find someone closer to the middle, where's Henry Clay? We need a great compromiser. One who gives to both sides, and takes from both sides. That seems to be the only way we can destroy the division. What do you all think?

One of the greatest mistakes the USA has ongoing for anyone to run for President is NOT enough requirements for the job.

You ever want to hire a mechanic to work on your car that has NO experience and no license to do so? Dentist? Doctor?
Economics, foreign political history, U.S. History, Military history and strategy, domestic and world trade, these are all things ANYONE seeking the office of President should have educationally and to some degree, experience in.

We now have some MONSTER that does not even know how many States we have....frigging Clown! Barry the Kenyan King Obama dumber than a bag of hammers and more dangerous than Hitler.

   Now that is a lucid, well thought out post! I agree! However, for one to be good in everything you mentioned, one has to be a good negociator and a man who can back up what he says, or woman for that matter. Hell, I have known women who could do a hell of a lot better, black woman, and hispanic women who could do a better job than Obama!

Obama HAS no PHD....he was a paid lecture giver...period. His so called "legal school" background (lack of it) was one of the many points that the State Bar of Illinois made notice during a hearing regarding both Moochelle and Barry....that Barry has used one too many names and past so called educational claims that were NOT valid, (added with some illegal activities he and Moochelle were caught doing) was the reason they BOOTED them from practicing law.....
