I had a boss many years ago who carried a little black book in which he wrote the names of everyone who had done him wrong...

I asked why he did that and he opened the book and showed it to me. Every name except the last one had been crossed out.
He explained that he crossed out a name when they got theirs. He said he only kept track. He never acted against any of the names in that little book.
I asked how they "got theirs" if he never did anything to even the score. He then imparted to me a philosophy I have lived by ever since.
He said that sabotaging other people takes a talent he didn't have, or want to have, so trying to get back at them, those practiced saboteurs, would likely fail because of his poor abilities in that regard. That would make him out to be something he never wanted to be.
He said those people who behave that way will always run into someone better at it than they are and when that happened, he crossed their name off the list. He was waiting for just one name to be struck through.
What brought that to mind just now was a report I just saw detailing 15 high profile people who acted publicly against President Trump and whose careers have been wrecked as a result. From a comedienne brandishing an effigy of his severed head to an assistant Director of the FBI to a RINO organization that spent millions trying to destroy him; all have destroyed themselves by their own acts.

God says retribution is his he will repay! They will get theirs!! Hopefully they will recognize their evil and repent!
