Speak for yourself, not the human race.
85% of the people on earth are religious in some form or other. That is 6.4 billion people out of a total of 7.6 billion. The remaining 1 billion are either agnostic or atheist, with a small number who have no sense of religion at all.
1/3rd of the people on earth are Christians, 1/4th are Muslim, and among the other religions, the percentage falls to the 15% who don't know or don't believe.
Your logic is flawed. When you "look around", what do you see that convinces you God does not care, therefore He is "a figment of man’s imagination"?
You don't have to answer that, we've heard it so many times it has become cliche - "If there is a God, why are children starving?" Or some variation on that theme. The answers are in the Bible.
God is transcendent, eternal, infinite, He exists beyond time and space, therefore, to find evidence of His existence, or should I say, to become aware of His presence, is not solely an intellectual exercise, it cannot be determined through inductive logic alone, nor by the application of laws of science, nor can you find it through a casual, non-committal reading of the Bible.
By your own choice, your life is either sacred or profane. Take your pick.
