Praise for Trump, attacks on Biden, silence on J*** 6: Mike Pence makes first speech since leaving office in pivotal SC
"We have the winning agenda," Pence told a friendly crowd at a dinner meeting of the Palmetto Family Council, an organization of religious conservatives in South Carolina, a state that will hold a pivotal Republican p**********l primary in 2024.
Pence told the crowd they should focus on how Republicans can win back Congress if they follow the Trump agenda. He cited the administration's record on jobs, trade, immigration, v*****e development, and military policy.
As for Biden, the former vice president hit the new administration for "an avalanche of liberal policies" that includes "a war on traditional American values."
"Had enough?" Pence said at one point. "I have."
Chad Connelly, a former South Carolina Republican Party chairman who attended the speech, said there was "no need" for Pence to bring up J*** 6 before such a supportive and conservative crowd. They wanted to hear about the Republican future, he said.

In his first public speech since leaving office, former vice-president Mike Pence on Thursday closely aligned himself with his old boss, touting the Trump administration’s accomplishments while urging conservatives to reject what he called the Biden administration’s “far-left agenda”.
“But how times have changed,” Pence said. “In just 100 days, the Biden-Harris administration has launched an avalanche of liberal policies that threaten to derail all the progress that we made.”
During his speech, which coincided with President Joe Biden’s 100th day in office, Pence labeled Biden’s agenda “an explosion of runaway spending” and decried Democrats for what he viewed as launching a war against “American traditional values”. He said Republicans had the winning agenda, focusing on key issues such as national defense, a secure border, and conservative judges.

Pence speaks highly of Trump in the meeting, plans to launch a political group
Former Vice President Mike Pence told a group of conservative lawmakers on Tuesday that he maintains a close personal friendship with former President Donald Trump while noting that he plans to launch a political organization that will defend their administration's record over the past four years.
"He spoke very favorably about his relationship with President Trump," Banks told CNN. "I got the sense they speak often and maintain the same personal friendship and relationship now that they have for four years."
