In my opinion, the problem goes back to the establishment, and advancement, of the minimum wage. The federal government took it upon itself to do this in violation of the Constitution (such laws are in the State's purview). Millions of entry level jobs have been eliminated because of it.
But if we are going to have a minimum wage, let's do it RIGHT.
I receive about $2300 per month in Social Security. That works about to $27,600/year, or $13.27/hour. If the Biden administration is going to make $15/hr a minimum for a "living wage", then I want a $1.73/hr raise so that I, too, am making a living wage.
Or even better, let's just mandate that ALL jobs must be 40 hours/week, and each and every one MUST pay exactly $100,000.00 per year. Think of the boost to the US economy! And that will also solve two other problems: everyone will have a living wage, and those mean nasty corporate executives won't be making too much money. Of course, neither will the Hollywood elite or the politicians, but sacrifices must be made.
