Powell's original quote was taken out of context. Made for a good sound bite. From then on she was paraphrased from the same sound bite.
What Powell was trying to get across was not to believe anything said before a trial and judge the case on evidence presented in court. Anyone with half a brain would know this

I believed it before her story. There are still cases working their way through the courts, quite a few. This stuff takes time, especially with the media basically clowning for the Dems.
