Hi All of my loved ones here on OPP.. Yes, even Dems! I have missed you! I am sorry that I have been away for so long.. Biggest of hugs all around!

It's a sad state of affairs when the News.. If you could call it that is ALL Bad on Both sides.. I watch several different things, I read a lot of different things, from both sides of the isle. What I have found, is that it's ALL Extreme!! There is absolutely NO "gray area" regarding some in the middle of the road.. So I have had to take Several steps back from the news, as it's stressful & sad.. and these two emotions, but stress mostly, are NOT good for someone tryin to Keep Kickin Cancer's A$$... I have a lot of catching up to do on a LOT of posts from everyone...What you may find, is that I will be a LOT more reserved in my comments, If any at this time.. Oh.. & This "RACE" thing is getting Tiresome!!, & Over used to such a degree that it's ALMOST Meaningless!!

Most of all I've missed y'all!

Good to hear from you again, Larai! I admire you for your strength in fighting cancer, and keeping a good attitude (which is part of the battle, I'm told)! Good on YOU!!

Good to hear from you as well Emily! Thank you! I've picked up my guitar again.. re-learning and hope to be playing slide blues at some point... hands don't work like they used to.. :))

Below is the post I just put on my facebook wall, which pretty much sums up my take on things lately..

Thought for the day!~Productively tired! As my hubby used to say, "I had entirely too much fun yesterday" I did a bunch of planting of flowers weed eating the yard. Now my left lower back n down the hip and leg is making me NUTS!!.. ugh.. I can say though, being productive is a nice thing and sometimes worth the pain!.. I have had to take a political step back.. stress is NOT good for cancer survivors!.. frankly, it's the worst thing a cancer survivor has to deal with is just the daily in's n out's of stress.. I have found that politics no matter which side you're on, can be stressful.. I have also found there is absolutely NO Middle ground, you're either far right or far left, and NO gray area.. but there is gray area!! But I hear NOTHING that constitutes a middle ground.. the "Race Card" has been so over used as to be Useless.. meaningless in the grand scheme of things.. I read a post in response to an article I read, that was REALLY profound.. God Made us to withstand what ever area of the world we were going to occupy, those closer to the equator, are more likely to have More Melanin than those further away.. In other words those that are closer to warmer weather have More melanin, as in Black or Brown.. and those born further away from the equator are lighter skinned and eye'd.. to be able to absorb more Vitamin D. Those in climates closer to the equator were born with darker skin which didn't Need as much exposure because they were actually getting more than they needed! That Jesus Christ was NOT a Blond haired Blue eyed man!! Period.. where he was born, dictates that he was of darker complexion hair and eyes.. He was NOT what religion has him portrayed as!l.. It does NOT matter what color he was, He was as the Son of God, Our big Brother!! Us, Being also the children of God! To which I replied Yes exactly.. But God did give us exactly ONE thing in common with each other, all of his children have the color RED as their common color as in BLOOD.. We are all God's Children!! We ALL need to find that common ground.. What I have seen and witnessed is folks seem to migrate to the idea of what makes us all different, instead of finding things that we all have in common, and also What I have seen is also a form of r****m and reverse discrimination, Which is more than back in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's day. What he stood for, and that he'd be spinnin in his Grave at the travesty that has become our country! Period! Bar NONE!

And what a great thought for the day it is! It's amazing that there is such diversity among mankind these days! White people this, Black people that....when all it boils down to is how their bodies react to the sun, depending on where they are living now or who they descended from genealogically!

I'm glad you're able to get out and garden. It is so satisfying to plant a seed and watch it grow into a beautiful plant that has a life of it's own. It will grow, take in nutrients and reproduce, just like people do - in their own way.

I planted a tree when I was a little girl at the home-made grave of little Maggie, our dog who died after living with our family for 12 years. Today that tree is a beautiful Japanese Maple that has the most beautiful burgundy-colored leaves every Spring and turns a brilliant blaze-red in Autumn. I love knowing that it will outlive me and holds my memories of little Maggie. No one else who looks at that tree today will know that it's there because of the love of a dog, but when I look at it, all the warmth and unconditional love that little doggie gave me comes back...what a gift!

I'm glad you are recognizing what stress does and are dealing with it the best way you can. And I'm so glad you have such a supportive hubby, too! Kudos to him!
