I'd still go with Gibbs' Rule #6, "Never apologize — It's a sign of weakness." Never apologize for a righteous comment as you have the right to your beliefs, opinions and feelings & cut out this 'wokeness' BS

If thats a tenth-step spot-check, well done. If you are just being civil, well done. I've found if you/we are going to ride this OPP Tilt-A-Whirl, it's inevitable you'll step on SOMEONE's toes. Life is for living, so engage. There are a few folks here I try to ignore : nothing you say will get a grown-up's response. Jump in, the water's interesting.

I know the feeling. I just can't understand some of the beliefs of some of the posters. I try not to take it personally, but it's difficult. I sincerely believe that many of the posters have no idea about what they post.
