That all came about as a result of the Israelites trespassing God's rule not to intermarry with people outside the tribes. When they did that, they became like the pagans and worshiped pagan gods. That's also why God told them to get off His land and never come back! Then Jesus sent His disciples to foreign countries to preach the gospel to His lost sheep.
Of course, the descendants of Esau (Edomites) were already doing and preaching evil things. They were the Pharisees and Scribes. They were the initial authors of the Talmud.
