A Brief History of Hopeium a Political Weapon

The word Hopeium was coined by James Corbett, creator of the Corbett Report.
It is perfect for describing false hope and belief in fantasy stories of knights on white horses galloping to our defense at the last minute.
Hopeium is commonly derived from encouraging rumors and mysterious messages from the good guys who, somehow, are embedded deep inside even the most tyrannical and corrupt agencies of government.
Somehow, they survive. They are there, and they are going to save us next Tuesday.
The message always is the same:
"Don't worry.
You are about to be saved.
You don't have to do anything.
Just trust the plan and wait.
