These Democrat politicians are something. Last summer, Harris and Schumer and Pelosi and most other pandering Dems marched in the burning streets with B*M demanding the defunding of police. Now, after a sham commission led by a partisan Pelosi-appointee, they want a 40% increase in DC police manpower to secure the Capitol. We citizens can be thrown to the dogs, but the pols need full time military protection after a tragic and widely denounced one-time event that has been condemned on all sides and not repeated. Anyone who can't see through the duplicity of these disgraceful, despicable politicians is in deliberate denial.

They are also dropping charges of r****rs who were actually charged with a crime of violence in the r**ts. This entire fiasco is getting out of hand, almost to the point of thinking it will actually come to violence to correct it.

To be a murderer, one would have to be convicted, yes? Have the presumption of innocence and fair trials been cancelled? Kindly rethink your position, or at least introduce yourself to the word "alleged".

I did not see alleged in any of the other claims of crimes in this post.

The police increase was requested by the police, not pelosi. The request for Guard units was issued by the police, not pelosi. Get your facts straight, you'll look less foolish.

I was citing CNN's reporting of General Honore's independent review as commissioned by the House Leadership. I included a link to CNN's reporting for edification. If you did not read it, or did not grasp its meaning, I can understand your ill-informed rush to judgment. In any case, it should trouble any right-minded individual that the same people who marched in support to defund the police, should now demand a para-military force to defend their fortified premises while the rest of us citizens are left with diminished police protection to withstand the growing violent crime in our major cities and beyond. Just because my observations are critical of democrats doesn't mean they're not valid.

I get it . Out of an overabundance of caution, as they like to say, we'll remain on permanent alert, fortified and staffed to the max to protect the Capitol. So it would follow then that the unified call from Harris, Pelosi and Schumer to defund the Police was a tad premature. All good.

Except if you're in Minneapolis, where the real mob that burns and l**ts for nights on end stands at the ready as the G****e F***d trial gets underway.

Defunding the police was a right wing scare tactic to the thought of reforming police who are immune from any consequences of criminal behavior. They need to be disbanded and reformed with the power of the union reduced to handle personnel problems not legal and disciplinary actions.

Wow. I'm sure the "defund the police" campaign, in its original context of -- defunding the police -- can be found throughout the literature and websites of A****a, B*M and the DNC. To label the movement a right wing scare tactic when it is plainly a left wing cause (see: Portland, Seattle) is quite a stretch, one that diminishes the good points you make that follow.

Though we disagree on the genesis of the movement, I think we can agree Police need to have a more t***sparent and accountable civilian review board, free of union influence and pandering politicians. Whether that reform requires they be "disbanded" is another matter, but I am pleased we found an opening for common ground.
