The first few years of Trump’s reign Melania stayed in NY and played NO First Lady roll apart from spotty photo ops where she had to pretend to like hubby.

Melania and Barron remained in New York so that Barron could finish his academic school year without distraction. At least that was what they said.

When asked about the family’s relocation plans post-inauguration Trump, 70, told reporters that he would immediately settle into the executive mansion and that Mrs. Trump and his youngest son, a fourth-grader at a Manhattan prep school, would move “Very soon. After he’s finished with school,” according to McClatchy White House Correspondent Anita Kumar. Trump t***sition spokesman Jason Miller confirmed that there was “obviously a sensitivity to pulling out a 10-year-old in the middle of the school year.”
“The campaign has been difficult for Barron, and she is really hoping to keep disruption to a minimum,” an unidentified person “close to Trump’s t***sition team,” told the New York Post in an article published online early Sunday.
Her choice to remain in the couple’s New York City penthouse until their son, Barron, 11, finished the school year, while unprecedented, was certainly her prerogative as a parent, as disruptions impact children.
Melania and son Barron moved into the White House 5 months later in June after the school year.
