I've been looking at Tanden in terms of her involvement with a left wing think tank, and it's role in some pretty lucrative government contracts, ties to Clinton, the companies that donate to the "brain trust" she runs, her partisan roles in Hillary versus Sanders politics, and what seems to be an actual feud against Bernie...and it's hard not to jump to the conclusion that there are way too many conflicts of interest in terms of her being able to run the OMB in the non partisan manner the job requires. Her life is about spins, taking sides, and backing sides or opposing them.
It would be easy to put someone in charge of the OMB that is not the hardcore political animal that Neera Tanden is. The OMB has a function that just needs to be run as doing what it does without a partisan spin.
I am going to say that I feel like I need to look at far more of what she has done and been involved in that I don't have the time for, but it does seem like Biden would be better served by a less partisan player for this job.
