Something a good friend that is hard conservative has said for years has bothered me, and I have tried to write about it to hear what people say about it, but it finally really clicked on things he was saying among the totally backwards rhetoric his head is filled with. It came about with how he reconciles the crap he's believing when faced with a friend trying to tell him facts that can be proved.

When I would say let me prove to you the facts I am basing my position on, and here's the part that says it all...

...he says this is a free country, that means you are free to believe that, I don't believe that, that is my right to believe wh**ever I want to. I told him we are talking about the difference between facts and beliefs that have nothing to do with facts. You can believe wh**ever you want, that will never make it the t***h, 50 million other clueless people can believe it as well and it will never be the t***h and reality, the only reality being that there are 50 million clueless and ignorant people. The t***h is wh**ever the facts are whether you agree with or believe them or not.

He wanted to know what makes what I believe right and what he believes wrong. I told him to start with he can't tell me a single detail about what he believes, he knows nothing about it, I asked him why he would continue to believe something he knows nothing about when he's talking to someone who could provide a hundred details on it that he's never heard of?

That revelation that this is how people who's heads are filled with garbage believe it is their god given constitutional right to believe wh**ever they want to, and they don't have to prove it or understand anything about it.

I could have written the exact same words and applied them to you. The difference is that I would be right and you would continue to be wrong.

" I told him to start with he can't tell me a single detail about what he believes, he knows nothing about it, "

I have countless times given detailed explanations of what I believe and the L*****ts on OPP could not refute what I said. I then questioned them in detail on the things they have posted and they could not explain what they had posted.

Interesting that he can't tell you what it is he believes in. We will just have to take your word for it because all of my conservative friends have not trouble articulating what it is they believe in.

Saying that, I wonder if you can articulate what you claim to be true. Example: many of you lefts have claimed that Trump was destroying democracy and yet on another thread, I can see not once of you l*****ts able to articulate what he has done that is destroying democracy. So lets see if you can; what has Trump done that was destroying democracy?

Demonization of the free press, calling them enemies of the people. Lying to his cult that the only way he could lose if if the e******n was s****n and then lying again claiming it was. Attacking democratic institutions. Calling every judge who ruled against him corrupt and a member of his f**e “deep state” damaging Americans faith in our justice system. He even called his own appointments corrupt and weak if they showed loyalty to nation over him.

Start with me, please.

I'm a conservative, registered independent who has been trying for decades to limit political leaders to one term, two at the most. V**ed three sides of the aisle when available.

Our current entrenched politicians are not working for American citizens.

Take this new C***d ** bill, download, and read it. It's a gigantic giveaway, enslaving our citizens under a planet of debt for generations to come. I only read part of it, then wrote my congressmen stating I wanted them to v**e no--the sucker passed and has to go back to the house, where undoubtedly it will be amended and passed again. Congressional responses were nonresponsive to my questions. If anyone steps up to challenge these entrenched incumbents they have my v**e.

Neither side of the aisle is putting Americans first. Makes me wonder where their loyalties lie--it is not with American citizens.

Party platforms change over time. I cannot prove it with facts; however, I know it to be true.

How we live has changed over time--not all of it is good.

Entitlement has grown way out of proportion and those who deserve it the least seem to want it the most.

For the last few e******ns, I have been unable to v**e for the liberal party's platform because it does not conform with my values. I took the time to download and read both major parties' platforms before v****g. That doesn't make me deranged, that makes me informed.

As one epic movie line states, 'You first." Explain what you believe and why, back it up with facts instead of posting a vague, murky post attacking a vague conservative friend.

easy peasy... take any of his false claims about the 2020 e******n, or his support of outlier groups but mostly turning the loyalty of former republican v**ers away from our country and demanding and gaining loyalty only to himself.. making a political party into a cult.. perhaps ending the republican party as a meaningful factor in American politics..

Desperate, deluded and dangerous, President Donald Trump drove America deeper into a political abyss on Monday night in his zeal to steal an e******n he lost and to destroy faith in the democracy that fairly ejected him from office.

The President spewed lies, conspiracy theories and nonsensically false claims of v**e f***d before an angry crowd in Georgia on a trip scheduled to help two Republicans in toss up run-offs Tuesday set to seal the Senate balance of power.
But as usual, and as it has been for the last four years, including during the fast-worsening p******c that he ignored, the outgoing President's primary concern was himself.
"By the way, there is no way we lost Georgia, that was a r****d e******n," Trump said in the first, inaccurate words out of his mouth after disembarking from his Marine One helicopter, before broadening his disinformation to the November 3 e******n as a whole.

Woodguru, my friend. Life has taught me that in dealing with other people, perception IS reality for that individual regardless of the facts you may have. Often times you have to work within their “reality” to accomplish anything.

Son of witless, as I said to Woodguru, it’s all a matter of the individual’s perception. You are both correct according to your perceptions.

When the press reports wrong/baised information and/or reports only what they choose to report, then they are indeed any enemy of freedom and America.

A free press must be free of bias, or it cannot claim be free, in any sense of the word.

We no longer have any established Free Press in America, only a propaganda machine, and you are its tool.

Thank you, but I refuse to accept your premise. You bring up the main point that all of us know. We are all sure we are right and the other guy is wrong.

Woodguru actually said something right.

" He wanted to know what makes what I believe right and what he believes wrong. I told him to start with he can't tell me a single detail about what he believes, he knows nothing about it, I asked him why he would continue to believe something he knows nothing about when he's talking to someone who could provide a hundred details on it that he's never heard of? "

One of us is right and one of us is wrong, and Woodguru has it right about what the test is. Can you argue the points and details of what you believe ? Can you refute the points the other side brings up to say you are wrong. Woodguru had that exactly right. All of us argue and debate to see whose ideas stand up.

I have been debating here and other places a long time. The Liberals are the ones who run and hide. The Liberals are the ones who post caricatures, pictures, and cartoons denigrating me and anyone who challenges them. They are the ones who refuse time after time to defend what they post.

I say that is the most obvious sign that I am right and they are wrong. It is not about perception. It is about whether right and wrong exist. I say they do. Anyone care to say I am wrong ?
