The federalist Papers make it clear as does the Constitution that a President is not immune from prosecution of criminal acts once out of office. However; they say specifically that a President can not be impeached once out of office. I believe the Democrats know they have no criminal offenses committed by Trump so attempting an UN-Constitutional impeachment is their answer.

full, In this country, decisions on questions about law are often resolved by precedent. There are two precedents in which federal officials have been impeached after they left office. It can be the only way that office holders can be held to account for crimes in office. If they commit a crime in the last week or two of their time in office, it can be the only way they could be held accountable. It is constitutional and perfectly legal, although I would rather see him tried by a federal court, and sent to a federal prison he so richly deserves. I hope New York sends him to a state prison. Ain't no golf course in Sing Sing!

Not quite accurate - only one instance.

Debate among Federalists and Democratic Republicans swirled around whether they had the right to (a) impeach a senator and (b) impeach an official who had already been expelled. In the end, they v**ed to stop an impeachment trial without deciding the question.

You have lost any sense of credibility with outrageous statements like that. We all know you have a ridiculous far-felt radical bias, but keep those Marxist/c****e policies....like k*****g the unborn, k**l free speech, k**l to print and say what you want, next will be to go to the church that you want.. Your people have gone to criminal behavior to remove this president for four years with means necessary. And now you guys have the 'balls' to utter laughable words like "unity". give me a break. laughable! But your pathetic analogy is granted because I'm an advocate of free speech and it only makes you kind of makes you look like a real doof. Used to kind of have a little respect but that's out the window. You're as bad as your pathetic "ilk". I won't read your CRAP anymore. I wonder if those 30,000 plus at his rallies felt the same way? You are a joke.

State law is different from Federal Law. A President can be held accountable by being charged for said crime. Not by impeachment. Get an education.

You're dreamin'. Just like the first four times you tried to nail him for something he didn't do.... Unfortunately your pathetic bias outweighs your ability to think straight. What has taken place, a very bias media, attempted indoctrination by every source known to man (including late night TV), five or six attempts to humiliate one of the best presidents we ever had. (you can't name 10 things where he put forth policies detrimental to America in general And if you can I'd like to hear them. Spout off about how bad of a president he was). A short list of detrimental policies by the new guy: higher taxes, more unborn babies k**led, open door policy for the Mexican cartel along with drugs, human trafficking, rapists and all those things Trump mentioned in his first speech. more job-k*****g regs, no plan for C***D, after blasting Trump for the same, 42 EO's declaring "I'm a dictator" by his own definition, and the list goes on. I could spend an hour listing why we are in deep doo-doo.

He really doesn't see his hypocritical anti-American bias. He would fit in nicely with the useful ones that are slowly turning this country into a replica of the old Soviet Union.

they are oblivious to just how hypocritical they really are. "We will knock your administration (Trump's) for being "dictatorial", but watch out, we're going to the same thing only worse when we get in office. How pathetic. Biden will lose in 2024 (if he's alive in a landslide) after the pathetic job he will have done. The writing is on the wall....unless the Left can be extremely corrupt.

Believe me, never under estimate the left. Hopefully Pelosi will have a heart attack (if she has a heart) and resign. They are trying to push through bills that would allow them to remain the only viable party.

I wish when posters put something novel in their statements, that they would give some documentation.

" There are two precedents in which federal officials have been impeached after they left office. "

Can you please tell us folks in the peanut gallery what those two precedents are ?
