A little help in understanding something

One of weird EO's that Biden did was to immediately stop the XL pipeline from Canada to the U.S.. We were energy independent and now after massive loss of jobs, why are going backwards in this area. Doesnt the progressive democrats like our country being energy independent? Now within 72 hours we are sending American troops to Syria to supposedly safe guard foreign oil? What gives here?

We didn't get none of the oil anyway,or tar sands .And for the loss of jobs ,they can apply for the jobs in the coal mines that trump created.
