Democrats didn't "vanquish" republicans, republicans have eaten themselves up with breaking the house and senate for ten years, dems did more in two years than the GOP did in the prior ten, mitch hasn't allowed v**es on virtually anything but judges and cabinet people, a dem controlled senate will pass more bipartisan bills in two years than McConnell has in his entire run as leader.

My point was that it's a mistake to think that a Democrat run federal government is now here to stay, as it would be a mistake to ignore that 70+million people did not v**e for Biden. Republicans made gains in state races, the House and barely lost the Senate.
