When you pick a name for your sports team, you pick something that is strong. You are honoring what ever name you choose. Nobody picks a name they disrespect. Nobody has ever called their sports teams the Earth Worms, the Slugs, the Houseflies, the Pansies, or the Maggots.

Names like the Lions, the Bears, the Cobras, the Barracudas, the Sharks, the Scorpions, the Tornadoes, and the Hurricanes are feared animals and forces of nature. We have human names too. Mostly White Guy names. We have the Fighting Irish, the Celtics, the Vikings, the Saxons, the Quakers, the Vandals, the Yankees, the Knights, the Cavaliers, the Knicks, the Canucks, and the Spartans. Now granted the Quakers are not very fearsome.

We do seem to have a few non white sports team names, but thanks to our Left Handed brothers and sisters they are getting fewer. The Florida Seminoles, the Atlanta Braves, the Cleveland Indians, and the Chicago Black Hawks are names honoring Native Americans. I hear there used to be a team called the Washington Redskins, but that seems to have been just one too many Native American Honoring names.

I wonder why we have no B***k A******n names for sports teams ? R****t AmeriKA I guess.

I have only recently thought about why there are no African American names for Sports teams. Again, to me it is honoring what ever group you want to use. The Left has hyper sensitized all references to minorities, especially Black References. We have a lot of B***k A******n names for roads. Martin Luther King Jr seems to be on many highways. Black Athletes in America have a long history. The problem as I see it is what Black names easily lend themselves to being used for sports teams ? I am usually pretty good with things like this and I go blank.

If only I had been as good an athlete as those words hint at, I'd either be rich and retired, or in prison bankrupted, with 6 ex wives and girl friends suing me for child support for my dozen kids. I love bassetball.
