On The Emergency Alert System

The Emergency Alert System is overseen by the federal government and allows the president to address the nation via all television and radio stations in the event of a national emergency. Broadcasters are required by law to cut into their programming and relay emergency messages.

An advisory which appeared on the official FCC website today titled ‘Enforcement Bureau Reminds EAS Participants of Compliance Obligations’ has raised eyebrows given that it was posted less than 24 hours after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building in Washington DC, prompting a National Guard response.

Gee, I wonder what that could mean!

Just a reminder that not all of us watch TV, follow Twitter, etc. because we have reached the oversaturation point.
EAS isn't going to have much effect on those of us who have unplugged.

ALL TV AND RADIO STATIONS.
The percentage of people who do not listen or watch them is very small. And those who don't will probably be informed about it by someone else. Also, if someone is that disconnected, they really don't matter politically. Do they?

It will be the way for President Trump to communicate his message to the public, since all other avenues have been removed by the Silicon Valley crowd. Personally, I hope all the social media platforms are taken down for a short while until their Section 230 immunity provision has been terminated.
