Actually I did say that EXACT same thing this summer.

You should know I am pretty familiar with your state, spent 6 years working at Everglades National Park back in the 80s. Fun times then with all the drug traffickers, we would find bodies multiple times each year. The drug lords would dump their bodies in the glades then light a fire thinking they would destroy the evidence. Fire crew would go out to put out the blaze and find the bodies. Pretty ugly. Put us through FBI bomb and booby trap avoidance training so we could recognize problems before they took our lives.

Oh heck yes, spent a few years working in Alaska back in the 80s and it pretty much changed me forever.

Bet we could share some fun fishing stories.

Awesome! I think it probably is the best river in the lower 48. Certainly the best dry fly fishing.

As some say (and I agree), fly fishing is the most fun you can have with your clothes on lol.

Yep love snook, and love a lot of other south Florida fish. Lived in the tiny town of Ochopee on a canal and could boat out to Everglades City and on into the wilderness waterway through the park. So much outstanding fishing.

Love fishing the flats outside mangrove islands near key largo. Went down to Islamorado many times as my father in law had a place there. Biggest freaking tarpon I’ve ever seen. Or mahi mahi fishing off the edges of the weed masses SE of Miami coast. Damn those were good days. Get first mahi on and leave it on and thrashing and the schools would go into a feeding frenzy and in five minutes your cooler was full of the most beautifully colored fish you can imagine. Dang things would bite on a bare hook once the frenzy began. Used to use just a bit of aluminum foil or a gum wrapper as bait. Crazy good memories for sure.

The Mile Zero Festival usually occurs first or second week of January each year in Key West. The p******c stopped it this year. Great event if you like live music outdoors overlooking the gulf as the sun sets. If you have not been you should give it a try. All types of music but more of a folk/bluegrass/blues atmosphere.
