Exactly where do you get your "seven deadly sins"?

********************
Here:
The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, is a classification of vices (part of Christian ethics) that has been used since early Christian times to educate and instruct Christians concerning fallen humanity's tendency to sin. In the currently recognized version, the sins are usually given as wrath, avarice, sloth, p***e, lust, envy, and gluttony. Each is a form of Idolatry-of-Self wherein the subjective reigns over the objective.

In the Book of Proverbs 6:16-19, among the verses traditionally associated with King Solomon, it states that the Lord specifically regards "six things the Lord h**eth, and seven that are an a*********n unto Him", namely:[4]

A proud look
A lying tongue
Hands that shed innocent blood
A heart that devises wicked plots
Feet that are swift to run into mischief
A deceitful witness that uttereth lies
Him that soweth discord among brethren

You almost had it right but you can't get away from condemning, can you? Why don't the Christians leave the judgement up to the Lord and allow people to live as they wish? It is not man's purpose to decide.

Do not judge, lest you be judged.

those words above are from one of Christ's sayings in the holy bible

Excerpt from “All about Judgment”
Joel Joseph – The Prophetic Scroll

Malachi 3:18 “Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not.”

Amongst our greatest enemies are those who say “Do not judge.”

One of the biggest lies in town is “Do not judge.” Many ignorant people, saved and unsaved have seen or heard about some verse somewhere that says something like that. The spirit of p***e in them jumps on the bandwagon and now you have a bunch of blind puppets participating in this dangerous deception.

Matthew 7:1 “Judge not that you be not judged.”

This verse above is the one! But what does it really mean? In the original, the verse has a “continuous tense” aspect to it. Quite simply it means that we should not get into a continuous judgment of people in which we put them down and elevate ourselves. It is all about being self-righteous, proud and arrogant on a continuous basis.

It does not mean don’t judge between right and wrong, t***h and error or even certain people.

I go with Matthew 7.1. Those that take judgment upon themselves ARE about being self-righteous, proud and arrogant. How can church leaders face themselves when they are taking the place of God by making these decisions. This is about personal bias or the bias of their congregations. If they are following the dictates of their congregations, they are doing so specifically to "ensure their continued employment." They should be condemned for both reasons as they DO NOT know the word of God nor are they following Christian dictates but creating their own laws.

This brings to mind the oft spoken phrase, "Do unto others as they do unto you." This is revenge! Why not use the original phrase, "Do unto others as YOU WOULD HAVE them do unto you." The last half of that phrase is often omitted and that half is the saving portion that would result in everyone honoring and respecting each other in spite of differences.

One can only decide right and wrong for him/herself. One need not "like" another's thoughts or actions but SHOULD respect them. You can be assured, according to Jesus' teachings, the self-righteous are definitely NOT going to the "good" hereafter.

The family of a gay man says a Tampa church abruptly canceled his funeral service after learning about his sexual orientation.

Julie Atwood told WFLA-TV the pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church called her the day before her son’s funeral, during the actual wake, to say it could not be held at the church because it would be “blasphemous.”

“It was devastating,” she said. “I did feel like he was being denied the dignity of death.”

Atwood said she has family ties to New Hope and also needed the large space to accommodate the hundreds of expected mourners for Julion Evans.

He died at age 42 after battling Amyloidosis for 4 years. His husband, Kendall Capers, says they were partners for 17 years and got married last year in Maryland.

“Everyone who knew us knew about our relationship,” he said. “We didn’t keep secrets.”

The service had been scheduled for July 26th.

T.W. Jenkins, pastor at New Hope told WFLA-TV that he did not know Evans was gay until members of his congregation saw the obituary and called to complain.

“Based on our preaching of the scripture, we would have been in error to allow the service in our church,” Jenkins said. “I’m not trying to condemn anyone’s lifestyle, but at the same time, I am a man of God, and I have to stand up for my principles.”

I hope he also refused burial for anyone who c***ted on his . . spouse, coveted anything that his neighbor had, or took the name of the Lord in vain. Let God punish the man but not for us. The congregation needs to know something about love. Judge not lest you be judged also goes with go and sin no more, but God is now in charge.

******************* br I go with Matthew 7.1. Tho... (show quote)

“Do not judge others” a little more in context. From Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount...

Matthew 7:1-6 New Living T***slation (NLT)
Do Not Judge Others

1 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. 2 For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.

3 And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? 4 How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

6 Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.”

And this is more like Jesus said it, also from His Sermon on the Mount…

Matthew 7:12 New Living T***slation (NLT)
The Golden Rule

12 “Do to others wh**ever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.”

I can't pretend to know the mind of God, but I suspect He's also very frustrated at improper grammar use as well. And then there's also the thing about let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Just sayin'.

Why try to redirect the OP? We're talking about gay man not allowed his funeral in a PB church and judging others; not about politicians.

However, Vernon, politics aside, you just placed yourself among those passing judgment upon others.
