Those statistics are basically worthless. Deaths per positive cases is a guesstimate at best. Doesn't take into account percentage of false positives, number of people already asymptomatic, Number tested that were negative when tested and infected later. Only thing that really matters is the mortality rate of the population. The afore mentioned statistic being used is no more than a scare tactic.

I agree completely J. I was just supplying the link that agatemaggot was asking for. My response to working class stiff is basically the same as your take on the matter.

By your reasoning the total number of infections is much lower... Which would make the mortality rate even higher.... If one wanted a scare tactic why would one try to lower the mortality rate???

Not at all. The total amount of infections could be much higher. People infected were not tested possibly. The total number of deaths to cases is much higher than total number of deaths to entire population.
