I'm confused at what this is trying to show...

We already know that people are refusing to wear masks... How can a mandate have effect if people don't follow it????

I can't speak for the rest of the world, but when I entered "how many people comply with c***d mask restrictions" I found this article.
"According to the latest poll from The Economist/YouGov, 84 percent of respondents say they have worn a face mask in public, a result that was remarkably consistent across every subgroup — even Trump supporters." https://www.mediaite.com/news/whopping-84-percent-of-americans-wearing-c****av***s-masks-but-how-many-trump-fans-are/

From my experience here in RI, USA, compliance with wearing a mask is almost universal when entering any store, otherwise you are refused entry. From what I have been reading, far more people comply with wearing a mask than refusing to do so. If that is in fact the case, this illustrates the point that the wearing of masks is totally ineffective in reducing the "case numbers" which are supposedly increasing dramatically, but that is another issue for another day.

People are rarely honest about not complying with rules...

Regardless, as masks aren't for protection, nut to reduce spread, those who fail to comply skew the numbers...

Think of it as a marijuana test... If you're in the room with a single smoker you will all test positive...

Also, to repeat myself, masks are but one part of a larger strategy, it's not expected that masks alone will stop the spread... Ignoring the other parts of strategy nullifies the usefulness of masks...

Great points. I wish I were in a room w/ a bunch of people smoking marijuana right now lol.

Masks are basically our only tool we have to fight against this crap. Show me just one single CREDIBLE medical expert that says masks are not (at least somewhat) effective. (That last sentence wasn't directed at you CD - I know you're a believer). Hell dude, we can use every single tool we can get. No matter how small it may be. Just mask up bro. It really ain't that tough to do. No one is asking us to go into combat.... just to wear a mask when in public and sit on the couch the rest of the time. I'm SO thankful we didn't have to rely on this generation right after Pearl Harbor. We'd all be speaking Japanese or German.

I was just at the gym when suddenly nature called in a bad way... Ran to the men's room... But my locker had no paper in it....

Thank the Lord for that pack of masks the university gave me... Could have been awkward

I have been wearing a mask the very few times that I went anywhere, been washing my hands, spend a lot of time outside on 100 acres with my three Labs and Monday I had to get tested for a procedure on Thursday, well golly gee I tested positive. I don't know what the deal is but I told my ol lady that eventually every body will get it, I am not sick ( yet ) by the way does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to help out?

I don't know you, but I am sorry to hear that. It certainly sounds like you have been careful. I guess it kind of shows how utterly contagious this thing is. I wish I had some sage advice for you but I'm sure someone will offer that up soon. What I will say is, just stay away from everyone for a few days I guess. Except for your wife (who probably also has it, I would guess) and your three Labs. If I was lucky enough to have three Labs, I would play with all three of them all day long. Labs are the best! I wish you a speedy recovery, sir. I wish I could give better advice but I guess that's all I have. I am certain though, that someone will come along behind me with something better. I'm not really all that religious (although I have always believed in God), but for wh**ever good it may do, I will say a prayer for you and yours right now, after I log off. Take care Jlw.

Thank you, I am sure my wife has it also. Her doc said wait until Friday to get tested, I have some underlying health issues and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations, I know most on here are not Drs. But maybe someone would have anything that made other people feel better. I still feel good but kinda planning ahead

In the NYT, experts compiled three datasets with officials from the states of Massachusetts, New York and Nevada that mention them.

Conclusion?
“Up to 90% of the people who tested positive did not carry a v***s. https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/stacey-lennox/2020/08/31/the-new-york-times-does-accidental-journalism-on-c****-**-testing-n867152

The Wadworth Center, a New York State laboratory, analyzed the results of its July tests at the request of the NYT: 794 positive tests with a Ct of 40.

“With a Ct threshold of 35, approximately half of these PCR tests would no longer be considered positive,” said the NYT.

“And about 70% would no longer be considered positive with a Ct of 30! “

In Massachusetts, between 85 and 90% of people who tested positive in July with a Ct of 40 would have been considered negative with a Ct of 30, adds the NYT. And yet, all these people had to isolate themselves, with all the dramatic psychological and economic consequences, while they were not sick and probably not contagious at all.
