The first Amendment does NOT have any caveats that pertain to private entities!!.. There is NOTHING that states that Big tech or anyone else has the RIGHT to censor us because of their "terms of service" they can NOT say we aren't allowed to say the t***h and facts regardless of whether they disagree!! WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND OF THOSE THAT WORK FOR US TO STEP UP, AND DEFEND OUR 1RST AMENDMENT RIGHTS!!! H**E SPEECH IS RELATIVE!!

AGREED 100%
BUT Big Tech and MSM are out to destroy that right
I see in the very near future, (and for me that's tomorrow) that a PayPal card and a Burner Phone will be my alternative tool to adress my personal feelings with, until this S**t Blows over, and people return to their sences
Do you think it will reach that point? I do.

It already has, as evidenced by some of the insults being slung around OPP and being reported for not even a profane word, but the word "i***t" and being directed at someone who directed it at someone else, I don't report people that seriously offend me.. I have thicker skin than that, however, I have been noticing over the last year I've been on OPP I've been spanked for imaginary insults to folks (libs) that I have just thrown their words back at them.. between here, f**e book, and twatter, all I can say is that I am glad i am on other platforms that allow me to speak my mind and damn the torpedoes full speed ahead, if there are snowflakes lookin for a safe place, they aren't goin to find a safe space with me at ALL.. patriots need only type in codias.com, rumble.com (alternative to screw tube) and Parler.com (alternative to twitter) I'm seriously done catering to the butthurt!!

P.S. NONE of the Aforementioned sites track you w/out your permission Unlike F**e Book Twatter & Screw Tube... Just sayin!

That's the way that it should but not the way it is, exposure is another big issue, prominence should be given depending on audience expectations, even if there was no censorship the proprietor of the app would still be able to hide what is not desirable according to their political perspective, so if the left had their Facebook and the right had their Facebook things would be fair, but impractical, also what if the US became a more multidimensional society, there would have to be multi Facebook's with many derivatives for folks who are a bit of this and a bit of that.
If the Government controlled the proprietors and systematically rewarded them with lengthy but reasonable term of imprisonment the system would function much better as the architects of the first amendment envisaged.

RT, that's just it.. Facebook used to be a very diverse atmosphere!!.. From all over the world! In my "hobby" as a blues dj, I know folks from all over the world and we connect on facebook.. Lots of live entertainers as well advert their "wares" on face book.. I have to say.. that since the advent of social media, the political climate has deteriorated to the Nth degree.. I remember a time when our v**e was private!!.. OUR SSN was not a "form of identification" and in fact said that right on your SS card.. NOW it's required for everything which has always made me uncomfortable.. recently, the place that I practice my hobby, was uploaded to the "cloud" that freaks me out more than anything, because I am dubious as to the security of said "cloud"... I KNOW from almost 30 years of experience that anything put out there in the cyber universe is forever.. you can never escape it, it's always there, things you thought long dead and buried.. like Oh say, a kegger that you went to in High School is forever on the web if you or someone else posted it where ever.. it's there for life period full stop!.. You say that's the way it should be, regarding 1rst Amendment rights but not how it is, I 100% agree with you, but ya know what.. THE Reason its NOT is because WE The People let that s**te happen.. that was on US, the "Silent Majority" NO ONE ELSE.. We the People have NO one to blame but ourselves for the trampling on of our RIGHTS!.. Am I wrong?

Any private business has the right to deny service... Don't like their business model??? Don't patronize them...

The OPP has the right to remove threads... And admin has done so on several occasions that I'm aware of...

Think of it this way... You don't have the right to walk into a school and start teaching students wh**ever you want... Nr can you enter a Walmart and start hollering about things you think are important... Or any other private business... They will ask you to leave...

That's what Facebook is doing... They're asking certain people to leave... It's unfortunate that people can't take the hint...

Great comment, maybe were asking too much, and experiencing too little, blues says it all and always has, I'm not very optimistic and resort to in-depth analysis of meaning now that I've made it where I want to be doing what I want to do so the blues doesn't apply to me at the moment anyway.

Prior to Facebook's monopoly Facebook was great, but the monopoly is due to subscribers not wanting to post on alien shores so I don't blame the silent majority I blame the Alien himself.

Facebook is a surveillance tool as is a cellphone. We've been repetitively conditioned to depend on them thus surrendering our rights. I learned this when big tech/cell tech started to surface decades ago. Remember Eric Schmitt(google) so far up #44's ass he had send help on the soles of his feet & who invented the web? I do!!

Now the left is complaining about parler not screening everything ( read censoring) that people write. They say it's misinformation! What a bunch of hypocrites

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

Although the First Amendment applies only to state actors, there is a common misconception that it prohibits anyone from limiting free speech, including private, non-governmental entities.

Big tech is not censoring you in any manner that violates your first amendment rights. You are in no way entitled to a platform nor are they required to provide you one. You are entitled to stand on a soapbox in front of town hall and spew nonsense and lies, the local newspaper or TV station has no obligation to broadcast or publish your gibberish. What you don’t understand is that the first amendment allows Facebook or YouTube to publish or refuse to publish wh**ever they do or don’t want to. You see in Conservative republican America corporations are not only considered people, they have greater rights than people including immortality.

Eric Schmidt predicted the internet will split in two, that was 2018, I didn't know about his input, but that wasn't a difficult assumption to make 2 years ago, the Trade war was on the agenda China had landed on the dark side of the moon and Schmidt's Google was pushing to launch its search engine in China.

Furthermore in 2020 Eric Schmidt while still harping on about losing to China became Chairman of the National Security Commission sounds very much like the NSA, but I don't think the NSA is hostile to China, more so NSA is hostile to Russia.

Eric Schmidt seems to be out of place, he's worth $14 billion so this anti-China rhetoric could be coming from business interests only, it doesn't mesh with any contemporary geopolitical strategy outside of Trump's plan to cut China loose which must mean overtures to Russia and Germany which Trump's not making, so I don't know, all
this has to go into the too-hard basket unless you can explain what's going on with Eric Schmidt by suppling a bit more detail.
