Barack Obama once again signals conservatives are stupid

“I’ve said this before,” Obama told The Atlantic. “The problem facing the Republican Party, the conservative movement, wh**ever you want to call it, goes back to the attitudes of the base — attitudes that have been shaped by right-wing media. And so essentially what Republican elected officials have done is to say to themselves that in order to survive, we have to go along with conspiracy theorizing, false assertion, fantasies that Donald Trump and Rush Limbaugh and others in that echo chamber have concocted, because people believe them.”
Hubris. No matter how you slice it, this is yet another example of snobbish leftism on display, the ugly attitude that says, “if you’re not with me, then it’s because you’re too stupid to see clearly.”

Huh!....sounds like he hit the nail on the head. Conspiracy theories and false assertions are in the Trump supporters' wheelhouse, as evidenced here on OPP.

That you think what he said signals conservative stupidity can only mean that you think those who believe those theories and falsehoods are stupid. There were plenty of conservatives who did not engage in conspiracy theories of false allegations. They v**ed for Biden.

Of course you believe he ‘hit the nail’. The hallmark of liberalism is the belief that ‘we’re just smarter’ - the old ‘some pigs are more equal than others’. And obama epitomizes that belief.

And this is supposed to be ‘unifying’. Add hypocrisy as another l*****t characteristic.

You read OPP....tell me it's not loaded with posts on conspiracies and falsehoods. Has nothing to do with being smarter or more equal.

I doubt he meant it to be unifying, especially if that 'unity' means having to accept those conspiracies and falsehoods. Nothing hypocritical about it.

Edit: btw....what do you make of all the conservatives and Republicans who v**ed for Biden? How do they fit into the narrative that Obama thinks conservatives are stupid?

As to your first paragraph... truer words were never spoken.

>>>I pretty much agree with that. It can be easy to v**e against President Trump, the man. He can be very offensive. But I keep asking and get no real answers from the left. Why would you ever v**e for Biden. Explain yourself in detail, or continue with your cheap insults. We know who and what you are.

And how many Democrats and B****s and Hispanics v**ed for Trump because they saw the results of the last four years in spite of the Democrats.

Simple... to get trump out. I'm not AT ALL thrilled with what's coming with Biden. I've long said, when you choose the lesser of two evils, you're still choosing evil. And, yet again, that's what we have in 2020 (we haven't had a l********e p*******tial candidate in some 60 years). Until we get rid of the two party system, we most likely never will again, and sadly, we'll never get rid of this most lousy of systems - you know... the two party one. Biden sucks but I'm ecstatic to see the worst "president" in the history of U.S. presidents leave office.

That's not quite accurate. True conservatives submitted to the extreme right, just as true liberals submitted to the extreme left. The most energetic, noisiest group, although a minority, gets the most attention.

I’d say there are about the same number of ‘conspiracy theorists’ as you would find on the left wing web sites.

How would he describe democrats who v**ed for Trump?

Of course he didn’t mean it to be unifying - bottom line, he believes people who v**ed for Trump are r****ts.

What cheap insults? That I don't accept the conspiracy theories and falsehoods?

I v**ed for Biden because he was not Trump. No need for many details. Biden wasn't my first choice in the primaries but like many folks, I v**ed against Trump primarily.

Same difference. I never subscribed to the idea that all black and hispanic Americans v**e as a single bloc. Have said so many times.

Maybe...I don't blog on left wing web sites so have no idea how may conspiracy theories are promulgated in that corner of the internet.

Don't know how he would describe Democrats who v**ed for Trump. Good question to ask him.

I thought you said his remarks signal he thinks Trump v**ers are stupid? Now you throw in r****m. Let's face it: you don't like Obama in the same way I don't like Trump. I also don't think Trump was interested in unity.
