Another democrat fleecing the public

In September, in an interview with The New York Times, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar was asked whether her campaign would cut ties with a political consulting firm it had a cozy relationship with, considering the fact she shared a cozy — in fact, conjugal — relationship with the firm’s co-owner.

The Democrat’s campaign had paid nearly $3 million to the E Street Group, owned by Omar-lover-turned-spouse Tim Mynett. The arrangement had turned a lot of heads, given the obvious ethical implications. However, Omar pushed back on the implication that there was anything wrong.

Cutting ties with the E Street Group now that she and Mynett are married, Omar told The Times, “would be the stupid thing to do. You don’t stop using the service of people who are doing good work because somebody thinks it means something else.”

“Why would I not work with people who understand my district, who have been working there for 10 years, who understand what it means to raise resources for a candidate like myself and manage and target our communications to our district to battle the misinformation and narratives that the media and our adversaries continue to put out?”

On Sunday, she announced she was doing something stupid.

Gosh Vet,,,

she shows no sense at all... rather then marry the guy and continue with the company for e******n guidance.. lady Omar should have followed the Republican norm and paid the used up person to keep his mouth shut and dump him.. the usual payoff of 130,000 dollars would have aduquet and then she could have moved on without the hindrance of some one to care for..

Yes that trump should be every persons role model..

Omar announced she wants to dissolve the Middle East peace deal. This is the kind of people that Permafool endorses.

Omar is trying to position her rhetoric like we should completely stay out of the Middle East. Let's face it, that b***h h**es Israel and pretty much America. Iran is the most unstable and dangerous force in the Middle East. Seems she forgot an old idiom. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Hello J, nearly lost my copy of this thread but here it was..

Omar sounds pretty much on the ball..

from your own link...

https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/biden-should-reverse-trumps-middle-east-deals-says-ilhan-omar

US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has accused the Donald Trump administration of using normalisation deals brokered in the Middle East to "disguise arms sale deals to human rights abusers".

Writing in American weekly The Nation, Omar said President-elect Joe Biden "has a tremendous opportunity to reverse" the deals and to avoid taking sides in a regional struggle between Iran and its rivals.

"Instead of siding with one group of dictators over another, we should position ourselves at an equal distance from both, allowing ourselves to be honest brokers, protecting our national security and interests while promoting human rights and democracy," she wrote.
Two-state solution
She continued: "Ignoring the suffering of the Palestinians runs counter to our most basic values … we must reinsert the call for a two-state solution with full human rights and self-determination for both Israelis and Palestinians back into the public debate with urgency."

This seems to echo what was said back at the time this was signed.. while we all wish for peace.. it is very doubtful that any lasting agreement can be worked without including all the combatants..

making peace between people who are not at war is seldom a problem..

signing a treaty without the inclusion of all parties seems like tilting at windmills..

However I have to add. I do hope the agreement is long lasting and effective..
