Note: The early Firebird cases were headstock breakers! Many Firebirds met their demise far too early because of it. Johnny Winter repaired his so many times he can't anymore.

I spent my teen years in the neighborhood they all lived in. Old man Vanzant was barber shop acquaintance of my grandad's. Ended up mowing his lawn a few times.

I went to Robert E. Lee HS. Played frisbee in the park with some of the 38 Special guys sometimes when they weren't doing something else. They were all older than me, of course.

Sounds like a great experience for a young man that appreciated guitars and rock 🎸.

Jacksonville was and is a hotbed of music like all old Southern cities on big rivers. It was great.
