Nancy Pelosi visited a primary school, the 4th grade in particular. The teacher was overjoyed to see her and introduced her to the class. The teacher asked,"Madame Speaker, we're having a discussion on the word tragedy. Would you like to lead the class?"
Nancy replied,"Of course! Class, can anyone give me a sentence with the proper use of the word tragedy?"
Tommy spoke up, " If my friend who lives on a farm, fell off of a tractor and it ran over him and k**led him, that would be a tragedy!"
Nancy said, " No, sorry, Tommy, that would be an accident!"
Susan spoke up, " If a school bus loaded with 50 kids ran off of a cliff and they all died, that would be a tragedy!"
Ole' Nancy said, "I'm sorry, Susan, but that would be a tragic loss."
"Anybody else?", Nancy asked. The class room was silent but then a hand in the very back went up! It was little Johnny!
He said, "If the plane you were flying in was hit with a missile that was friendly fire and it was blown to pieces, THAT would be a tragedy!"
Why, Johnny!", Nancy said, " That's absolutely correct! How did you come up with that sentence?"
Johnny said, " Well,it for sure wouldn't be a tragic loss and you can bet your sweet ass it wouldn't be no accident either!"
