New York City Police Officer was suspended without pay for misusing departmental equipment.
Video captured the Officer in Brooklyn harassed by an unknown man cursing, “You, f------g p---y, you f------g f*****t”. Man dared the Officer to broadcast, “Trump 2020.”
Officer accepted the dare and misused the vehicle’s audio system to broadcast,“Put it on YouTube, Put it on Facebook, Trump 2020.”
Department echelon twitted, “Suspended without pay; The police officer who is under investigation for using a department vehicle’s loud speaker for political purposes has been suspended, effective immediately.” — NYPD NEWS (@NYPDnews) October 25, 2020
Mayor Bill de Blasio also addressed the incident, promising a swift response, noting that the officer’s behavior won’t be tolerated.
“Let me be clear: ANY NYPD Officer pushing ANY political agenda while on duty will face consequences,” he wrote on Twitter.
De Blasio also said last week that he didn’t think New York City police officers would let their personal political views bleed into their professional responsibilities.
On July 9, 2020, in Manhattan, De Blasio’s painted Black L***s M****r and declared, "when we took money from NYPD budget and gave it to young people, we are saying black l***s m****r."

Personal opinion:
Under normal circumstances, the Officer should be reprimanded and suspended for 1 – 3 days.
Also, De Blasio should face consequences of 1 – 3 weeks suspension without pay.
