A t***sition from Oil to renewables is similar to the t***sition from coal for heating to natural gas. It is not a natter of yes or no it is simply encouraging improved cleaner technology to meet our needs while moving from less efficient dirtier technology and resources. As a kid I remember coal trucks bringing heating coal, ash cans in the alley behind the house and the filth it laid across our cities. Cleaner is better across the board, and in the end far less costly.

Energy independence is a national security issue & long overdue. Remember the gas shortage lines & $5 gas ? We were held hostage by OPEC, now it's our turn to be the oil "shot caller".

I Agree!
This could also be beneficial for creating jobs where presently there are none.

Until a cheaper more efficient energy source is found, oil and gas will be the only fuels used. And, they are needed to produce electricity to power cars as well.

But, the TRUE reality of that is year away! You cannot fly a jet engine on solar power, perhaps someday that technology might appear but is not realistic. All this push for electric cars, but everyone forgets how electricity is produced & it is not all solar or wind-turbines! Keeping green alternatives in mind and working TOWARD them is a viable goal, but is NOT yet a reality! Not yet a RELIABLE GREEN ALTERNATIVE!!!

Jets could easily be replaced by high-speed trains.... Which would regulate them to international flights only... The trains are cheaper, more comfortable, and much more energy efficient...

Just one example...

ENOUGH current renewables is NOT YET a reality! Cleaner is better, but we ARE NOT THERE YET! Being "in the end far less costly" is NOT YET KNOWN! A hope yes, a goal yes, PROVEN NO! Day dreams about the future might be a fun exercise, but we MUST LIVE IN THE PRESENT, while we work toward our dreams!

6000+ products made from petroleum.
100% Renewable Energy Myth
What Percentage of the Global Economy Is the Oil and Gas Drilling Sector?

Oil is the engine of prosperity. The idea of k*****g the petroleum industry based only on a monumental h**x is beyond stupidity.

On the other hand, it would eliminate jobs in fields that are already here, a NET GAIN? Unknown at this time, more pie in the sky?

'A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two in the Bush' is used for saying that it's better to hold onto something one has already than to risk losing it by trying to attain something better. An old saying, well worth remembering!!

The real reason to get rid of oil and gas is to weaken America enough to level the playing field so that America would willing assimilate into the borderless one government world dream of the international left.
Take away American energy, and America falls.
