Capitalism is more democratic because if you don't want the wealthy corporations or individuals, don't buy their product or services. You have a direct influence without the middle man.

Numerous U.S. corporations are being led by Democrat Progressive Socialist and we feed the beast.
U.S. corporations are becoming more socialistic (i.e., Universities, NBA, NFL, Entertainment and News Medias, GE, Amazon, Walmart, Nike, Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, and Google, etc.). They believe in tolerance as long as it fits their agenda.

Universities are prime examples: tax fed; nurtured with donations; pampered by the press and they'll arrogantly snub their noses at anyone who fails to follow.

What D'Souza felled to be cognitive of is that there isn't any socialism in the United States of America -in fact the reason why you are debating the pro's and con's of socialism verses capitalism is the result of republican embedment of the concept of socialism in to America's conscientious - it serves their political agenda - much like McCarthy did with the idea of C*******m in the fifties , this , in the fifties was referred to as "McCarthyism"; every one was suspected of being a c*******t ; they cite certain entitlement programs as socialistic. The programs that they perceive to be socialistic are programs of compassion and morality - and - one might argue the fact that they are programs of the governments due diligence duty so far as "doing for the people what they cannot do for themselves" ; after all the revenues the government takes in are monies that are collected from its citizens [the republicans act like that is money taken from their individual bank accounts]
... to debate the issue of which is the superior form of economic government, capitalism or socialism .... I was taught that because the United States has such great economic success is not because of its form of
government , capitalist/democracy [after all Great Britain is a social democracy] but because of its Ideal geographic location which affords it great natural resources.

=================
The most important essence of capitalism is production.
The most important essence of socialism is consumption.

Let me expand this further.
In capitalism, the individual has the freedom and ability to exercise various talent of his sk**ls. When the person is gifted with talent, or wisdom, desires to expand that wisdom to something productive.
When this person has the ingenuity to work hard to achieve his desires for advancement.

In other words people with the capitalistic ideas are given the freedom to think, to produce, and work hard in order to achieve the desired goals of making himself successful and wealthy. Then they pay taxes to the government based on the tax rates impost. When more people are productive, the government collects more income via taxation.

In socialism, the person consumes thru the government distribution of products.
The government does not produce income. It expends. The people in socialism don't use their knowledge or ideas to produce. The government thinks for them. The government then received most of the production by the people under the government's guidelines or mandate. These people work for the government and the government provides for them. These people in socialism follow what the government asks them to do.

Capitalism has unlimited resources based in their knowledge, ideas, and hard work. At the end they are the producers of the wealth of the country. Since no two humans are alike, those people who are smart, work hard, and innovative get rich while those dumb and lazy ones prefer government handouts. They remain poor and jealous of those who worked hard and gotten wealthy. Capitalism has freedom.

America has been under capitalism since birth. It made America, the strongest and the richest nation of the world.
When the government runs out of supplies to provide to the people, problems arise and poverty cause discontent. No country in the world has ever succeeded in socialism.

Capitalism has nothing to do with production.
Capitalism is the generation of a continuous
Money Stream to the owner. Thereby capitalizing on a situation.
It may be from production, but not necessarily. Rent would be a good example.
Capitalism is not a government model it is an economic model.

Merriam-Webster Definition of capitalism: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

This is a Socialist consideration; "Tampax Tweets, 'Men Also Have Periods.' "
That's about as low as it gets. What's next?

Where have you found this illusive “Free Market”
If you think it’s here then you are mistaken. Corporate today
Does not want free markets. Too volitile.
They want to control everything. No free markets.

If capitalism is so great why in this economy do we have the social hiearchy known as classism , upper class, middle class, lower class and lets not forgive to give a mention to the very seldom mentioned under class-[which by the the way is contrary to the concept of a democracy of the people, by the people and for the people ; you know the top one percent and so forth - now you might ask what does this have to do with the impetus of being given
a free reign , which is the incentive motivator to be more productive there by producing a more prolific economy - fact is the middle class does majority of the work and they do not come close to enjoying the fruits and amenities in which the upper class enjoys -also most do not have or exhibit those concepts that make capitalism the superior form of economical government that you argue on capitalisms behalf - futhermore ,it is what I was taught during my informative years ; the country enjoys such economical success is because of its great natural resources ;at best the middle class enjoy a meager mundane comfortable existence and do not advance far from their middle class station in life , this existence produces all kinds- of suppressed dark psychological temperaments which is inherent living under constant competitive circumstances [especially] when they cannot be the king or number uno numero ,it is good to the king or number numero uno -suffice it to say there is an element in the country that is not contented to be the Queen, they want to be the king
