Our hymn for Psalm 63 is as shown below.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XsrMeHe8fH8

God of Our Father, Whose Almighty Hand

1.God of the ages, whose almighty hand
leads forth in beauty all the starry band
of shining worlds in splendor through the skies,
our grateful songs before thy throne arise.

2. Thy love divine hath led us in the past;
in this free land with thee our lot is cast;
be thou our ruler, guardian, guide, and stay,
thy Word our law, thy paths our chosen way.

3. From war's alarms, from deadly pestilence,
be thy strong arm our ever sure defense;
thy true religion in our hearts increase;
thy bounteous goodness nourish us in peace.

4. Refresh thy people on their toilsome way;
lead us from night to never-ending day;
fill all our lives with love and grace divine,
and glory, laud, and praise be ever thine.

Very good AuntiE but I thought for sure you would have come up with "Thy Loving Kindness is Better Than Life" which seems to fit this Psalm really well as well.

My source material showed this in three hymnals for this particular Psalm. Further, it is one of my, personal, favorites.

Per your request, enjoy.

I dd not perceive it as a criticism, but a valid question. My resarch resource lists hymnals from Baptist, Episcopalian, Methodist, Presbyterian and Psalter hymnals. I try to use the one listed predominantly among the five. I will admit there have been occasions when I chose a personal favorite over the most prevalent listed hymn.

PS: I was happy to provide you with a memory hymn for you. :-D

Good morning all, May the Grace and Peace of Jesus Christ be with you all. Let us pray,
"In the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit....Amen"

Lord Jesus may your blessings and forgiveness come upon us as we pray the Ancient Prayers of David, King of Israel and your servant.

Oppressed by the Wicked but Rejoicing in the Lord
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation;
Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked,
From the r*******n of the workers of iniquity,
Who sharpen their tongue like a sword,
And bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words,
That they may shoot in secret at the blameless;
Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.
They encourage themselves in an evil matter;
They talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, “Who will see them?”
They devise iniquities:
“We have perfected a shrewd scheme.”
Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.
But God shall shoot at them with an arrow;
Suddenly they shall be wounded.
So He will make them stumble over their own tongue;
All who see them shall flee away.
All men shall fear,
And shall declare the work of God;
For they shall wisely consider His doing.
The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him.
And all the upright in heart shall glory.

Psalm 64:1-10

Lord Jesus, this is why I thank you my Lord, for living in America, where we can fail, and have the opportunity to pick ourselves up again. I have failed in Irving, Tx, so I am returning to Arizona where I can pick myself up again, and when I do, I know you my Lord, will give me the tools to make it once again. Lord, bless all the people out here, who have attempted in succeeding in anything thier hearts desired and have failed. Give them hope to make take up their cross, and try again. I know I will be doing this. Give us strength as we battle the wicked in this country, so we can all succeed. Thank you Lord, Jesus for being with us this day and for ever. For if God is for you, who can be against you. We ask this in Your name, we ask this in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

In the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit....Amen"[/quote]

We pray to God that he will guide Ranger in his new adventure. Help him to realize that he has not failed for any experience from which you learn something about yourself , and, gaining strength in that knowledge, are able to move forward with faith in the future is not a failure. Please God guide him as he develops further toward the person You planned him to be. Help him to realize that the only failure is giving up, and give him he strength never to give up or give in to the temptations of the world. And this we ask in Jesus name. Amen

In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, guide and inspire my words today. O Lord, I ask that You forgive our sins, forgive the sins of this nation, come upon its people and restore in them the faith upon which this nation was founded, that we may once again walk in the favor of Your light.

Prayer for
PSALM 64

We step out to face a new day, and as the first rays of the morning sun breaks through on the Eastern horizon. We know our destiny is held in Your mighty hands. We lift our hands to You, to ask for Your protection and guidance through this new day. Bless us with insight for what may come, guide us through the intricate passageways that we may face as the hours tick by. Keep us ever near You, Lord, we thirst for the security of Your love.

We come before You to seek the Spirit's influence on our thoughts and desires, and to pour out our heartfelt needs. Your presence, in our life, brings more comfort than gold - we are safe and satisfied. We also ask for Your protection over our troops. Keep them safe, O Lord. We ask that You have Christopher begin to stir, and comfort his family. Bless all who come to You this day, Lord, have them know You care about their needs..

Yes, always keep Israel in Your care, and keep her in America's prayers. We ask that You forgive America her sins; don't leave us, Lord, for many of us have strong faith. Have the power of that faith bring about a revival, so that many others can once again feel the rejuvenation of spirit that You bring. Protect the Middle Eastern Christians, and strengthen those who are aiding them. We pray this in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen

I Will Sing of My Redeemer

1. I will sing of my Redeemer
and His wondrous love to me;
On the cruel cross He suffered
From the curse to set me free.

2. I will tell the wondrous story
how, my lost estate to save,
In His boundless love and mercy
He the ransom freely gave.[Chorus]

3.I will praise my dear Redeemer;
His triumphant power I'll tell,
How the victory He giveth
Over sin and death and hell.[Chorus]

4. I will sing of my Redeemer
and His heavenly love for me;
He from death to life hath brought me,
Son of God, with Him to be.[Chorus]

Chorus:
Sing, O sing of my Redeemer,
With His blood He purchased me.
On the cross He sealed my pardon,
Paid the debt and made me free.

Amen AuntiE now that song was sung by the gold standard as far as I'm concerned. I guess I'm just a good ole southern boy at heart. Loved it and loved the prayer and the Psalm thanks to all three of you for the beauty that you bring to us all.

The Gaithers are an entirely different type group. You will see a LOT of them from me, as well. I always look for either the choir or them for hymns. Their rendition of Blessed Assurance is absolately amazing!

I thank all of you guys on here. You all are making me remember the words of Thomas Edison, when questioned about the invention of the light bulb,

"No I did not fail, 999 times in making the electric light, I found 999 ways of how not to make a light bulb"

Thank you all for the encouragement!

May God Bless you all!
