35% of America is in collection, according to other polls, 60% of America is living pay check to pay check. How much of a hiccup will it take to cause the house of cards to fall down?

One week of not getting the welfare checks, food stamps and other "social" benefits would cause a large portion of our country to start to fall apart. The internet go down for what ever? Hacker, terrorist, gov intervention, what happens next?

I would think most is America would agree that they are not prepared, don't mean you need to have a bug out place in the woods with a years supply of food, water and guns, what would you do if any or all of the above happen.

Grocery store shelves bare in 3 days, no elect no ATM, internet so no food stamp cards, no gas, no food people in the streets looking for what ever they can find, what will you do?

Seems to me we've been on the brink for decades. The predictions of collapse never end, and every time the stock market farts or we get into some fracas overseas, the warnings to start stockpiling are heard again.

Obama has said right out that he plans to reduce America to third world status, but to do that he needs to get lots more of us on welfare, not less, and definitely not end the welfare. If that happened, everyone would turn against the socialists.

Ebola is spread through contact with bodily fluid and about as contagious as HIV. Last I checked HIV wasn't the end of the world and since Ebola is near 100% death rate the odds of contacting the bodily fluids of someone sick with Ebola is small at best. Sorry chicken Little but this isn't the end of the world...try again.

Spot on observation, IMHO. Supposed to have been Spring, '12 then October '12. Next it was all pent up for the ominous June '13 followed by October '13. Then the '14 predictions came for May and that passed so it was guaranteed for July. The DOW dropped two points 7/31 so I guess that was it. I'm sure that will fuel more predictions of a big sell off. Meanwhile, cash keeps flowing in as a good buy because there's no better return with rates so low. I'm sure there are plenty waiting for a deeper drop to buy into.


There's so much more left to be undone but the House is d**gging their feet so expect the masses to empower more socialists this fall.

I think this Ebola epidemic just may be more serious than we're being told. I note that the number of dead has doubled in 3 African states in less than 3 weeks and it seems that the people over there prefer not to reveal the level of sickness and death in their villages - some sort of social thing, they don't like intrusion into their lives. So it actually may even be a lot worse.

While a part of this increase is probably due to ignorance and secrecy, part of it may also be due to it being more contagious than we're being told. Not that any of us would ever have any reason to distrust what our government officials tell us, of course. :roll:

That our National Guard has been entrusted with Ebola detection kits instead of our National Health Service does set off alarm bells with me. The National Guard is not medically trained. What in all the Hells are they doing with those kits? Unless they're expected to be using them under duress conditions? You see my point. People would have to be herded into control and containment areas and tested, whereas ordinarily, our National Health Service would be asking people with certain symptoms to either come in for testing or notify them so they can be tested at home.

I think Sicilian's pointing to a possibly much worse potential scenario that our government is preparing for, than we're being told about. What else is new? :shock:
