As some of you no doubt know I a user of the Chinese social media app WeChat... I prefer it because I rarely encounter censorship and it doubles as method of making payments...

In order to be censored, someone must first report a chat group... I've seen this happen before... Usually it's because someone said or posted something derogatory or false about China or the government... Or due to pornographic images being shared... That does it every time...

But I've never encountered difficulties discussing any topic... From Taiwan to Hong Kong... The c****a v***s to the various scandals involving Huawei and 5G... Most topics are fair game, as long as people remain civil and don't resort to vulgarity...

Many in the OPP know I enjoy discussing and learning about religion... And I belong to various group chats that engage in this... Recently I completed a 90 day Bible study on wechat... It was quite enjoyable... The woman who ran it was Brazilian and we had members from around the globe.. Made for some interesting conversations...

Today I learned something interesting... Islamophobia is considered wrong and um if one posts a meme about Islam and is reported, one can be banned from we chat... Which is odd, considering China usually doesn't mind a little disrespect towards religions... Seems that Muslims are pretty sensitive and are happy to report people for infringing this rule...

Anyways... I'm sure I'll be fine... My Muslim memes are all pretty tasteful๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I'm curious. What did you study during your 90-day Bible Study?

It was a complete reading of the Bible cover to cover with group discussions afterwards...

The organizer prepared various activities focusing on the sections we read that day... They included group questions, additional comnentaries, videos, and even music...

She did superb job... I think there was only ever one minor disagreement that became problematic (concerning the appropriateness of music in Bible study group ) and we got past that without losing anyone...

Here's the checklist, and I think she has some of the materials on pdf as well... If you're interested

Each night at 9:00pm my time we met on Zoom to conduct open talks and workshops... We used wechat throughout the day to continue various conversations...

I have never met any of the other members in person... About a quarter were Chinese, with others from South America, Africa, the US, and Europe... I believe I was the only Canadian... I came across the group when it was getting started and joined... It was an experience I may choose to participate in again... So many different perspectives, but all focused on the same thing... Expanding our love and knowledge of God's word...

Through God of course....

There is a commonly held belief among Christians that salvation comes from God

Can you be more specific. How does one become saved?

It's a meme Parky... Relax...

Only God can save you... The Bible is just one of the many ways to connect with Him...

Why are you being as slippery as a snake? Are you ashamed of your faith?

Jesus said in Matthew 10:33, "Whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven."

Jesus also said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the t***h, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Did you study that in your Bible Study or did you skip class that day?

Confessing with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead is the only way to be saved canuckus (Romans 10:9).

It may be "just a meme" to you but your eternal soul lies in the balance. I'm not trying to step on your toes. I'm trying to step on your heart.

Awe... Shucks... Thanks Parky...

I absolutely agree that Christ will judge us before the Father one day
