Thoughts - When science is politicized...
US suffering absence of national leadership
CHINADAILY
More than 1,000 current and former officers of an elite disease-fighting program at the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention signed an open letter on Friday expressing dismay at the government's public-health response to the C****-** p******c.
"The absence of national leadership on C****-** is unprecedented and dangerous," said the letter, signed by current and former officers of the CDC's Epidemic Intelligence Service of outbreak investigators. They were writing to "express our concern about the ominous politicization and silencing of the nation's health protection agency" during the current p******c, and called on the CDC to "be at the forefront of a successful response to this global public health emergency", the letter said.
The letter will strike a chord with many in the US, given the current anti-p******c situation. The v***s had infected more than 8.15 million people and caused over 219,000 deaths in the US by Monday, according to Johns Hopkins University.
Yet rather than following the advice from public health leaders with valuable expertise, the US administration has been deeply involved at times in the shaping of scientific recommendations at the CDC during the p******c, raising objections to guidelines for reopening churches and schools and for wearing masks, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Political support has had a higher priority than public health for the administration.
And it is increasingly obvious that gambling on people's lives in this way has been a resounding failure. Not only is the v***s raging out of control in the country but the economy is suffering as well.
Successful experiences in China and elsewhere show that the measures recommended by health experts, such as wearing face masks and practicing social distancing, are essential to limit t***smission of the v***s, yet the US administration has been unwilling to make them mandatory. Even now, the US society is deeply divided and although the administration continues to champion "America first", the rising death toll in the country due to the v***s lends bitter irony to that claim.
Denial of science has become a touchstone of faith for the administration, and that is why the country with the most powerful public healthcare system in the world has had the poorest response to the public health crisis and the failure of national leadership has been so costly.
To win the fight against infectious diseases, everyone must play their part, and that calls for very strong leadership and a clear message.
China followed science-based approaches, the US didn't. One only has to look at the two countries now to see the difference.

"When science is politicized..."
politicians start harping on "the experts".
Lots of politicians are touting "experts"...as if we
need them understand this p*******c.
When I see wild dogs feeding on piles of dead bodies in the streets because everyone's afraid to bury them, people staggering around bleeding from their eyes and then turning into cannibal zombies, hospitals like war zones...then I'll worry.
But right now I think this is a bunch of buuulls**te.

The federal government here has done everything that the "experts" have recommended. Contrary to the politizaion of this Chinese v***s the US has only had about 10,000 deaths due to the v***s, according to the CDC website. The other deaths are due to comorbidities, on average over 2.4 per death. The average age of people who have died from c***d19 is 81 years, here if you get shot in the head and had c***d19 symptoms you died of c***d19. G****e F***d died of c***d19, even though he had fatal amounts of fentanol in his system (sent here by the CCP as well).
We can't force people here to stay at home, or away from church, it's unconstitutional. If the US was allowed to weld apartment buildings shut, from the outside, like in China maybe we would have a better handle on things. Maybe if the rest of the world got the t***h from China, back in November of 2019, the world wouldn't be dealing with this p******c. Herd immunity is the only way to beat it. No v*****e will work effectively enough, the efficacy of the flu v*****e is only about 20%, why would this v***s be any different?
You need to realize that EVERY death from c***d19, worldwide, is solely at the feet of China and the CCP. The Chinese government doesn't give a damn about their own people, or any other countries people. They only care about world domination at ANY cost.
