Absentee v****g in America goes back to the Civil War era, and every state allows this kind of v****g in some form—and federal law, in fact, requires b****ts be sent to military and overseas v**ers for federal e******ns.

To get an absentee b****t, a registered v**er must request one through their state government, which accepts or rejects the application. When someone is approved to v**e absentee, e******n officials mail the v**er an absentee b****t, which they complete and sign, and return by mail or, under certain circumstances, fax.
