I loved the way that O'Donnell made light of the words talking about a scenario 100 years down the road. Of course, he made very light of that and Maher said we may not live through the wildfires this weekend. What they were saying is that our Constitution is an old tired piece of paper and we need one to fit the thinking of leaners of today to replace it with.

For some reason, they got quickly away from the 2nd Amendment. i would say that is because they know that they can howl to the moon about it but can't change the way it is read and used. Leaners really make me wonder what makes their brains work.

I was just thinking about this thread and I have to wonder why the left is so loud about doing away with the 2nd Amendment if they are so sure it does no good. Yes, Maher is very far left as can be seen by his guests.

On the National Day of Prayer, my request to God was that he give me strength to take h**eful speech from me about politicians, media "personalities", and TV and Hollywood "stars". Hence, I cannot reply as I would wish to.

I just noticed you are in Kansas. Since you use "oldroy" as a screen name, let me hope you are old enough to remember when cheerleaders did what was called a "C Jump". Being from Kansas and having your Governor signing really wonderful laws to support your 2nd Amendment Rights, you must be doing really BIG "C Jumps" even without a history of being a cheerleader.

AuntiE, Trust me OldRoy is old enough to remember. As a matter of fact had he been a carpenter instead of a teacher he could well have been Noah's ship fitter... :) :D

Auntie i am probably the oldest one here at 80 and I coached basketball for 18 years in the 50s, 60s, and 70s and although I had a lot to do with cheerleaders all that time don't know what 'C jumps" were. It sounds like this might be something like what a cheerleader from a Denver high school talked about as "stick arm" cheerleading. What was a C Jump?

You surely can trust the Dutchman about how old I am, now start with some of the others here, like tasine and some of the other women who are much older than they sound.

Do you think that the leaners are trying very hard to make us believe that the 2nd Amendment won't protect us? I think they want us to go along with destruction of it so they can take our guns without effort. Of course, people like Maher and O'Donnell know what is going on since they are so sure it doesn't amount to anything.

A "C Jump" is when you jumped with your back arched, feet lifted toward your derrière and arms over your head toward your shoulders. Basically, you force yourself into a "C" shape as you go into the air. Aunti would have to see a chiropractor if she attempted such a thing now!

To Oldroy and Dutchman. Please do not perceive arrogance by a new user, but for your amusement go to a new topic I started shortly ago. It is named "Congress". Looking forward to your guffaws!

I mentioned somewhere else today that Obama and Holder are now taking on the governors of Kansas and South Carolina but didn't say that I would back the one from SC before Brownback. I don't like Brownback and didn't even when he was in the Senate. I am a backer of the Kansas AG though especially on Constitutional questions

I asked my wife who sponsored cheerleaders from 1972 to 1999 about C Jumps and she knew nothing either. Those things must have come before 1958.

When he looks down the business end of a gun he just might alter his attitude.

Bill Maher likes to call himself "a seeker of t***h", but he is referring to "his" t***h as "he" sees it. When the 2nd amendment was written, the "government" didn't have any more sophisticated weaponry than the colonialists had. Since then, the "government" has made it illegal to have anything close to what the "government" has. In that respect, he is correct. However, like the saying goes: "Halitosis is better than no breath at all." A citizenry with inferior weaponry is more likely to be able to resist tyranny than a citizenry with no weapons at all! This has been proven time and time again in countries that were and are now "governed" by dictators, i.e. Hitler, Chavez, Castro, etc. As everybody (well, everybody with common sense, which excludes most liberals) knows the first action these dictators did was to make illegal and confiscate any weapons that citizens had access to. I just wish there was a way to protect our citizens from Bill Maher!

What's to reply when Bill Maher is the topic? We all KNOW he will be spouting the progressive line until the day he dies, whether or not he knows it makes him look unbelievably stupid.

I firmly believe every progressive shows dozens of signs of being a sociopath. My support:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/sociopath?s=t

so·ci·o·path
a person with a psychopathic personality whose behavior is antisocial, often criminal, and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience.

psy·cho·path
a person with a psychopathic personality, which manifests as amoral and antisocial behavior, lack of ability to love or establish meaningful personal relationships, extreme egocentricity, failure to learn from experience, etc.

nar·cis·sist
1. a person who is overly self-involved, and often vain and selfish.
2. Psychoanalysis . a person who suffers from narcissism, deriving erotic gratification from admiration of his or her own physical or mental attributes.

pa·thol·o·gy
1. the science or the study of the origin, nature, and course of diseases.
2. the conditions and processes of a disease.
3. any deviation from a healthy, normal, or efficient condition.

If anyone out there can point to a well-known progressive who does not possess these traits, I'd love to hear from him.
