There is a Negro Spirtual called Swing Low Sweet Char**t (SLSC) that was written in the 1800s by a Negro s***e. Sometime in the mid 1900s it was turned into a drinking song. Many drinking songs are taken from
Christian hymns and songs so this isn't unusual and not meant to demean. Just a good singing melody and meter that lends to good boisterous singing and fun with a mug of beer in your hand. SLSC was adopted by Rugby clubs as far back as the 1950s and around 1985 became a song for English Rugby. Like the Haka is a song or chant for New Zealand and the all b****s national rugby team. It is taken from Maori historical chants and war chants. It was and is used to rile up the N. Z. Rugby side and their fans and never meant as a form of disrespect. As is the song SLSC for the English. Now, because of this bull s**te about G****e F***d being k**led by a white Police officer, (He wasn't. G****e F***d died from a self induced fentenal overdose. Fact), The country and even parts of the world are going mad over black l***s m****r. And using this song SLSC is appropriating a Negro Spiritual. I belong to a group that uses that song as the finishing of a nights activities that includes drinking and ribald songs and suddenly this is not to be permitted anymore. And yet, the b****s that attend have never shown any disgust for the song and sing right along with us with enthusiasm. An example of Politically Correct going to far yet again and trying to deny us free speech if they don't like it. As a matter of information, there are countless drinking songs that are taken from the melodies of Christian hymns and songs. No one complains about them. Must we white people also quit singing the Blues or Gospel or Rock and Roll or Rap because the B****s started them. I run one of the local groups and we will keep singing it. It is about the nicest song we sing.

Just thought some of you would like to know of just one more little act attempting to take away free speech.
