SICK: Tennessee Middle Schoolchildren REQUIRED To Write “Allah Is The Only God”

The radical Left has infected public education like we’ve never seen before, and because of it, students in Tennessee are now being taught that ‘Allah is the only God.’

Parents at a middle school in Spring Hill, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, are upset that their children have spent three weeks studying Islam and were assigned to write the Shahada profession of the Islamic faith: “Allah is the only god.” Making the situation worse, parents said the teacher skipped over the section on Christianity.

Though the parents understand that a thorough study of history will undoubtedly cover religions from all over the world, they don’t understand why so much time is being spent on this one. Plus, the class is delving into learning the specifics of the Five Pillars of Islam and thus causing parents to wonder if that constitutes teaching religion in schools.

“From a religious point of view, if the schools are going to be teaching religion in history, they need to teach them all equally,” parent Brandee Porterfield told The Columbia Daily Herald. “For them to spend three weeks on Islam after having skipped Christianity, it seems to be that they are making a choice about which religion to discuss.”

Another parent, Joy Ellis, said she was aware her child was studying Islam but as far as having to write the Shahada, she said, “To me, a Christian child should not be made to write that.”

“I honestly don’t want my child learning about Islam at all, but if they’ve got to learn about it, I would like for them to learn about the historical aspects of it and definitely nothing about the religion. I don’t want her writing ‘Allah is the only god,’” Ellis added.

But according to school officials, the class is just following Tennessee state standards adopted by Gov. Bill Haslem. Though he signed a bill against Common Core in May, the new TN Core standards are said to be very similar to the controversial curriculum.

The people of Tennessee need to clean house and then pay better attention to who they v**e for.

They are teaching a survey of religion. It teaches students the creation myths of different cultures and their impact on both history and our current situation. I don’t understand why it is bad or dangerous for anyone to understand the basic tenants of Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Shamanism, Christianity or Voodoo. It is interesting and gives people insight into others.

The devil is in the details, and how one spins a story.

If the course was supposed to be "Comparative Religions" and all religions were given a relative equal weight for educational purposes, I would agree with you. But as I read the article posted by Captain Jack, comments from the parents do not make it sound that way.

For example, "parents said the teacher skipped over the section on Christianity." “For them to spend three weeks on Islam after having skipped Christianity, it seems to be that they are making a choice about which religion to discuss.” Does that sound right to you?

If they are teaching comparative religion you might have a point. Even in that case, it is crossing the line to require them to acknowledge Allah as the one true god. How would you feel if the teachers required the students to write the Pater Noster?

Until that child reaches wh**ever the legal age of "majority" is in that state, the child is MY responsibility. There are mosques, synagogues and churches to teach religion. I will decide what spiritual path this minor will follow, until he/she decides differently, or leaves home. Period.

I would rather teach kids analytical sk**ls so that they could see how vile, distasteful, destructive and demonic islam really is. Then use these same analytical tools to show them that the same holds true for the demorat party and marxism. Give our kids a real education not l*****t propaganda and islamic bs.

Panties in a knot for nothing.

Dr. Jan Hanvey, Maury County Public Schools middle school supervisor, told the Columbia Daily Herald that while students spend about three weeks learning about the geography and culture of the middle east, they only spend about one day talking about Islam. Furthermore, Hanvey said that the Chritianity was not “skipped,” as some publications have suggested, rather that it was moved to a later date:

The Shahada, one of the Five Pillars of Faith in Islam, states that “there is no god but god (and) Muhammad is the messenger of God.” Similar statements can be found in the religious texts of other monotheistic religions, such as Christianity and Judaism, and while the word “Allah” is often linked to an Islamic deity, it is an Arabic word for “god” and is not used exclusively by Islam.

The public schools are not in the control of the PTA. They are run by a Marxist indoctrinator's union, and the property tax that is a "forced tax" without any kind of representation in local city government, pays for this union and the upkeep of the buildings, which have now become "re-education camps" for our "required to go to screwal" children. We need an overhaul and a weeding out of these "educators."

They teach Islam but probably don’t teach American history. Is is pretty bad when the teacher is more stupid than the students and parents.

Try teaching comparative religion in an American school.

Your mobo jumbo is way off, go to a mosque and tell them that? See what happens.

There is no religion that claims they will k**l those who do not convert to there's but Islam.
Have you not seen where they cut off heads of live people on live TV?
Spray gasoline on live people and light them on fire?
We are fools for letting even one into America.

Well Kevyn (with a Y), while I agree that teaching children about the history of various religions isn't a bad thing in itself, I don't think it was necessary for the children to be required to write "Allah Is The Only God". But then, since we know your opinion of the Christian faith, we shouldn't be too surprised by you opinion on this one - should we?
