This is a bald faced lie, all the legislation does is make the penalties for an illegal relationship between a young adult and a minor the same for same sex couples as for opposite sex couples. So for instance the penalty for a 19 year old having sex with a 17 year old are the same wether it is boy and girl or two girls. It in no way makes these instances legal.

Currently, for consensual yet illegal sexual relations between a teenager age 14 to 17 and a partner within 10 years of age, “sexual intercourse” (i.e., vaginal intercourse) does not mandate that the offender to go onto the sex offender registry.

So that means that a 14-year old having ANY kind of consensual sexual intercourse with a 4-year old does not mandate that the offender to go onto the sex offender registry.

It seems like the name Weiner has become synonymous with "p********a", "sexual perversion, "child rape", sending penile photos to little kids, and "child trafficking". California law SB-145 creates parity regardless of sexual orientation, and will improve sex offender registry. It is ending an existing inequity not legalizing anything new, despite massive and d********g misinformation from the Q***n cult. The law had the support of the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Calif Police Chief's Association, among others.
